  1. Past hour
  2. If y'all bigger Helenius with more defense but probably less offense, Oliver Suvanto is a 6'3" center with an early September bday. Super young but he's already in Liiga.
  3. I had to go and look it up that Noronen pick turned into Enroth. So they got a couple extra years of “decent” goaltending out of that situation. Marty turned in TJ Brennan, so yeah, less return there. If anyone gets traded now, I’d hope for a bit more of a hockey trade, but who knows if that’s out there.
  4. I feel like to this point 4, but its likely to climb LOL
  5. They were pretty good at 3v3 when Granato was coach and they had not yet "learned defense".
  6. Goaltending and better coverage in high scoring areas they are keeping it to the perimeter much better IMO.
  7. I thought I was clear in saying the Sabres already have everyone viable lol But I agree with you.
  8. I’m not anointing Utah as a top team. I didn’t sat that they were. However, based on what I watched night, it’s not unfair that this young team is a rising team. With respect to being disappointed or not at getting a point in a game where you were decisively outplayed (my opinion), I’ll gladly accept the point. If we would have outplayed them or even played them evenly, I would be disappointed at getting just one point for the home game.
  9. And we’re not even at that point of the season yet where pretty much every single game goes to OT.
  10. I’d be fine with Jagger Joshua taking up 3 minutes of ice time. They might as well just dress 11 forwards with that little ice time.
  11. Every season I’m mother freaking the teams with 17 OTL’s that are 10 points ahead of the Sabres and in the playoffs. It would be nice to turn the tables.
  12. The Amerks are not short on toughness. Between them he rooskies, Joshua, Dunne (when he goes back), Warren, and Kuntar, they have plenty of jam.
  13. The first two were blown points. Then the next two they took 3/4 points in a pair of games where they were down by 2 goals. These things have a way of balancing out. These points matter. There’s only one team on the league with more OTLs than Buffalo right now and take a look at where they’re sitting right now.
  14. These loser points are keeping them close but they keep it up, later on IF they’re in a playoff fight, they’ll probably lose out on ROW’s. That would be so Sabres of them.
  15. Yeah I mean there are about a half dozen Amerks on the Sabres currently. So I wouldn’t paint the picture that the Sabres don’t have any prospects or minor leaguers that can help out. They already are. Helenius is the obvious choice if they need to call any one else up. Unless somebody is excited for Jagger Joshua szn. Love the dude but he’s barely talented epnough for the AHL, and really only has a roster spot due to the other things he brings, mainly his fists.
  16. I had it. It ***** sucks. I couldn’t walk for almost 2 weeks. I lost some hearing from it, as well.
  17. They can’t send Ellis down, St. Louis would most assuredly reclaim him. The only real option is to trade UPL but I don’t think that’s likely. The goal is, or should be to find the right guy, similar to when they had Miller, Biron and Noronen. Everyone always thought they’d be able to flip that into something substantial and they ended up with a couple of picks but at least they got the guy.
  18. Carson Carels would be the guy if you plan to replace Power down the line (Mrtka will in 2yrs but still). He's direct, physical, good. Is he flashy, not really, more like Kesselring with more offense. He'll probably be 6'2" at the combine, so he's got decent size for the backend.
  19. Agree he is a waste of a roster spot, but there’s no one left to bring up. The Sabres already have Rosen, Östlund, and Dunne. That also assumes Kozak is a full time NHLer. There’s nothing left in Rochester other than kids who aren’t ready (Helenius 19 years old & Wahlberg 20 years old) or AHL vets with no NHL viability. It’s bare. If Geertson was currently in Rochester, he would be the next in line.
  20. Your specificity is acknowledged. I see OTLs piling up. At least the Utah OTL was a come from behind effort in a game that the Sabres were outplayed in. The others OTLs were blown leads. It makes you feel good to get 1 point, that’s ok. But it gives me concern about the mental make up of this group, including the coaches.
  21. Preview of tonight’s game: https://www.amerks.com/news/detail/game-preview-amerks-fight-crunch-for-top-spot-in-north-division Something that caught my eye from the preview, “After three straight seasons finishing in the bottom six of the league for penalty minutes, the Amerks enter this week leading the Eastern Conference with 165 through 10 games. A pair of defensemen are accountable for nearly a third of those PIM, with Nikita Novikov (26) and Vsevolod Komarov (25) dealing out punishment.”
  22. I just spot checked a bunch of goalies - good ones, mediocre ones, bad ones - UPL's .820 was the worst i saw.
  23. If we tie every game that is over 80 points for the season, could get us to the playoffs
  24. I think they'd be better off sending Geertson to the minors permanently, and bringing up literally anyone else.
  25. I posted that a couple of days ago so I forgot what site I went to to get the data... But the number I came up with was for all of the goaltenders combined. Obviously the majority of that being UPL but including everyone.
  26. They're playing St. Louis. Expect Colten Ellis in goal; he was a Blues draft pick.
