  1. Past hour
  2. To be fair (although it is football), the Bills had a 17-year drought and the Sabres are currently tied with the J-E-T-S at 14 for the longest active streak. I honestly don't see the Jests ending theirs this year, so here's to hoping the Sabres can!
  3. Rossi - 0.55 pts/game in 185 games Quinn - 0.54 pts/game in 178 games Granted Rossi's point totals were 1 (in 19 games!), 40, then 60 and Mr. Quinn has gone 37, 19, 39 ... but as of today - no real overall difference. We'll see what '25-26 brings, i guess 🙂
  4. Another bad year and Him and Dahlin are goners. We are probably the worst franchise in modern history. It is crucial we make significant progress this year or the franchise will be clearly in a death spiral if we are not already.
  5. Sports hernia - same thing Ras (probably) had to start the 24-25 season. It does weaken my point a bit ... I guess if he gets injured this year, I will hang my head in shame and embark on a whirlwind apology tour 🙂 If he doesn't? Man, ain't nobody ever heard as much "I-told-you-so"ing as I am gonna do!!!
  6. When we passed Rossi for him I almost fell over. Another blunder.
  7. Quinn also missed 25 or so games in Rochester in 21-22.
  8. The 05-06 Sabres team was the closest we ever had to a team like this. It was unfortunate the defense got decimated by injuries before game 7. That was sad. we have never recovered, and management was atrociously bad not to keep the core of that team together past 07.
  9. Sorry. I was agreeing with you. I don’t think fighting and toughness go hand in hand
  10. Bennett is a tough player because he plays a hard game checking players all over the place. He's a full throttle player whenever he hops over the boards. The fighting is a distracting sideshow. I'm aware that most people don't agree with me on this issue. As far as I'm concerned, fighting should be banned, or the instigator should be given 25 minutes in the box and be required to sit there until the penalty time is finished. I'm confident that this is a minority view. If you want to watch fighting, then go to a MMA match.
  11. Today
  12. I just dont love Liljegren, Id have to have Ferraro and I know he is a lefty but he can play with Dahlin and then you can use Peterka or 9 for the Power partner
  13. Musty! The WNY guy! He’s a big boy too.
  14. Because it would would make Buffalo even worse, and those are the types of trades that Adams loves to do.
  15. I was just in Cranbrook last week. Definitely has more of a Calgary vibe than a Vancouver vibe, and his profile is a natural for the Flames, on and off the ice. Seen a lot of Andersson/Byram speculation, but only from guys like us, not the insiders.
  16. I agree with this. I feel like so many of the Sabres fights, when they do happen, are kinda comical or irrelevant.
  17. I haven't kept tabs on this whole thread so maybe this was said over the 9 pages... Most people don't realize Byram's hometown of Cranbrook is geographically and demographically closer to Calgary than it is Vancouver. I would almost bet he grew up a Flames fan. For similar reasons as we do, the Flames have trouble attracting and retaining talent. They may lose Rasmus Anderson. If you're Calgary, wouldn't you consider overpaying for Byram, given you know there's a good chance he's a Flame for life?
  18. Jack Quinn's "inability to stay healthy" is a myth. He had ONE SEASON where he had two bad luck injuries, otherwise: And he was benched for at least 2 of the 8 he missed in 24-25. Pleez stahp! Also note (for others who like this narrative, too) - the injuries did not diminish his play. Since coming back from the Achilles injury - 58 pts in 101 games, roughly 0.57 pts/game and it was 0.49 before. If someone wants to say the injuries set his development back, sure. I think he even said he wished he had been stronger to start last season. Quinn is at least as good as he was his rookie season ...
  19. Clearly, if we are 7th in fighting majors they aren’t related in the way most folks would relate them. To me, it seems like our fighting majors are a reaction to teams taking advantage of our soft play. Its a poorly developed line if thought on my part, but I suspect we’d have fewer fighting majors if we were harder to play against. We play soft, some opponent takes advantage of it, then someone ill-equipped for fighting drops the gloves as a reaction. Ultimately, it is our soft play that drives it, I think. Or maybe its just the jade colored glasses I see this team through.
  20. I agree. Let’s say Bennett never fights. Would you say he is soft?
  21. Before anything, I’d need to know Robertson’s ask for his contract. I’m not entertaining a asset laden trade for a 1 year rental or a rent with another trade at the deadline. The contract must be manageable and not interfere with Tuch re-signing.
  22. Not the Sabres giving him the bridge, the Stars giving him the bridge. The OP didn't see where bringing in Peterka saves Dallas any money.
  23. Instead of getting fixated on the issue of fighting the bigger concern is the relatively softness in play. That becomes glaringly evident on defense from the forward and blue line players. There has to be a better balance between finesse and more physical play. Last year’s additions of McCleod and Zucker were positive additions because they provided an element of physicality that was lacking. To state the obvious, we need to be better in that aspect of the game. And to do that we need to add some players where the more rugged style of play is how they usually play. When one watches playoff games the contrast in style of play becomes starkly evident.
  24. Didn't double-check my math, but I think this shows 12 Sabres dropped the gloves this year. https://www.hockeyfights.com/teams/4/fightcard/reg2025
  25. Go Sabres!
