  1. Past hour
  2. In previous years a big issue was losing in regulation and not getting the loser point. This year the issue is not winning in OT and settling for the loser point. That alone is a pretty big improvement (putting aside the obvious need to get two points on a regular basis).
  3. Today
  4. Cuz his first game back someone is gonna wet willie his ear hole and re-not injure him. Do I gotta lay everything out for everyone?
  5. Some of the additions/changes have made a positive difference. So far there are still some of the previous players who haven't been dragged into the fight by the new guys but hopefully over time that will happen. Most people are talking about Doan for obvious reasons but biggest surprise to me is Timmons. I didn't think he was very good in Toronto and not much in Pittsburgh but he's been really solid and seems to fit their system perfectly. It's made a huge difference.
  6. I never said I hadn't seen it. I said Sabres want to be a possession team. The problem is what they do when they don't have that possession.
  7. Where did Ruff say what @Brawndo said? He was less than specific in his words. An ear thing is a physical thing. It is caused by an illness. Why not just say that right away?
  8. It's not so much about changing minds; it's more about encouraging like-minded people to actually vote. (Taro notwithstanding)
  9. Last year when the Sabres were better at playing OT, they did that to other teams frequently and kept the other teams' players out there for just as long. After thirty to sixty seconds, you're gassed and blocking lanes, just playing to prevent a game ending shot. If you say you've never seen it before, you're not watching NHL hockey.
  10. I listened to 4 minutes of that drek. Did he ever say anything useful?
  11. Was there ever a consensus on the length of the Norris injury?
  12. It's literally being discussed exactly what that is, Ruff told us, in this thread.
  13. Kulich could have an inner ear condition called labyrinthitis, the symptoms include dizziness to the point where the room feels like it is spinning, nausea and vomiting. It’s usually caused by virus but can also be a bacterial infection.
  14. Yesterday
  15. It is weird. Mittlestadt has had issues too. They sat him one game but since that he's actually started to look good. Jokiharju is bad, but so was Lohrei. Aspirot has been a surprise. He's playing similar to Timmons for the Sabres. Zadorov McAvoy really seems to work this year though. lol, they aren't a good team and if injuries keep hitting (Elias Lindholm is a big loss) they can fall fast but I watched Calgary Philly yesterday and I'd say they have a much better chance of being dead last. That was likely the dullest and most inept game I've seen in a few years. Just bad.
  16. That was a weird way of talking about Kulich. I mean if he's sick, like Zucker, wouldn't they just say they are both ill? Why is Zucker ill but Kulich is dealing with something not physical and not an injury? wtf does that mean? Hurt feelings? Teams are getting weirder and weirder about injuries and players out of the line up.
  17. No. I don't see that much. Maybe a minute or even two but if both teams are battling for the puck you get changes of possession after shots. Sabres don't want to play that way though. They just want possession and if they don't have it they don't pursue hard onto the puck carriers. It's a passive approach and I think it's dumb. Others may disagree, and there are different views on how to play OT and how to play hockey in general, but imo the teams that are aggressive and battle for the puck are the teams that win the most.
  18. Because much as Granato loved him some Jokiharju, Ruff loves him some Geersten.
  19. I don't exactly hate that. But why do we even have Geersten? I'd suggest suggesting more realistic suggestions. This is, after all, the internet.
  20. Buffalo is already near the top of man games lost to injury https://nhlinjuryviz.blogspot.com/2025/10/202526-NHL-man-games-lost-plots.html (and that is before these latest 2)
  21. Ooo- tah. Duh
  22. Here's the oversimplified version https://dobberhockey.com/2024/07/29/the-wild-west-high-danger-shooters/
  23. HD shots come from the areas with highest shot percentage. These are shots per60 metrics not shot percentage but they all use the same grid roughly.
  24. Get it right. A 2x4 wouldn't even add 4 full inches of height to his shoulders.. Sheesh.
  25. One of our neighbors has signs up every year for the local elections. Which works well, because if we don't know all of the candidates in the "little" races we can reliably vote for our neighbors' favorites' opponents and end up with someone that will get that particular job done. Hasn't failed us as a strategy yet. (Of course, should they someday twig to the fact that people see who they're voting for and do the opposite, they could fake us all out and put up signs for the people they hope to see lose, and end up seeing their folks get in when everybody votes against the candidates with their signs up in their yard. Doubt they'll ever get to that level of 3D chess. They seem to have issues with good ol' 2D checkers.)
