  1. Past hour
  2. Management thinks the broadcasts have been too critical? And people think the players in the this organization are too soft
  3. Too critical? They suck. That said, I always felt the coverage was one big giant bj for the team. How *****
  4. And then he assistant-coached a Sabres squad that had Miller/Enroth and Vanek and... Drew Stafford's best season, though the goals probably all came in 3 games... the last time the Sabres made the playoffs. But they had goaltending.
  5. Per Alan Pergament at The Buffalo News. "The Buffalo Sabres are making a key television lineup change next season. Joe Pinter, who has been producing Sabres’ games since 2002 and has been working for the team for 37 years through when games were carried on WUTV (Channel 29) and WNYO-TV (Channel 49), was told recently that his services are no longer needed. Pinter declined comment. His replacement hasn't been named but the job has been posted. According to sources, some members of Sabres management believe the television coverage has been too critical. It is a laughable claim since the team has been on a 14-year Stanley Cup playoff drought ... ." +++ If this is the kind of business stuff that Pete G. signs off on, he can go get wrecked as well.
  6. Sad that Johnson seemed to fall through the Sabres cracks. He played well when called up and held his own defensively! He could be a good trade piece.
  7. Levi should earn the job not just be handed it, last year was a great start but he should be in the AHL for at least another season unless he’s playing at such a high level we would be insane not to start him.
  8. I hope not! He played well for us last season! He is definitely a solid and serviceable 4-6 dman we just wasted assets to get last year!!
  9. 15 games, not 25. Rosen’s most common linemates in the NHL? The likes of Tyson Jost, Brandon Biro, fellow rookies Kozak and Östlund. Contrast that with Mackie Samoskevich in Florida. Same draft as Rosen. Similar AHL #’s. Similar size. He breaks in with Florida last year because the panthers are up against the cap and NEED a rookie on an entry level contract. He gets 31 points in 72 games this past year. His most common linemate? Conn Smythe winner Sam Bennett. If they Sabres were a serious NHL team, Rosen would play on the 3rd line this year with McLeod and Zucker or Greenway. And he would put up 30-35 points and nobody would think he was a complete bust. But, the Sabres are not a serious NHL team and they are failing Rosen, who is likely to rot on the vine.
  10. Yeah I’ve been thinking about this. Is JBD too small for Kevyn's narrow minded view on hockey players. He’s shifted from all offense to all giants. I mean whatever. My biggest problem is that most of the D aren’t overly physical. Did he forget that part of the equation?
  11. ^ Lyon got the Panthers to the playoffs over the Sabres in 22-23. They lost in the Final to Vegas. Then, Lyon went off to Detroit and the Panthers have gone back-to-back. Must be nice. So many playoff seasons to choose from.
  12. F Bryson and F Adams. I don’t want a guy on my team who is “fine” sitting on the sidelines….not to mention this undersized wuss is one injury from being a regular. Just because he “wants to be here”, doesn’t mean he should be. Adams should always be looking to improve the 23 man roster and bringing back Bryson year after year is the opposite of that.
  13. Kidnappers. That’s what it would take.
  14. I doubt this. That said: Power, 6'6" Kesselring, 6'5" Samuelsson, 6'4" Dahlin, 6'3" Timmins, 6'2" That's the defense right now with JBD not signed and Byram a big ???
  15. It’s almost like they only took on JBD in the trade for contract reasons, meaning Ottawa wanted them to take him to complete the deal. There’s no way you want a guy, ***** up his immigration papers, play him - successfully - 14 minutes a game for 15 games, then decide you aren’t going to qualify him at league-minimum money. Turning Clifton, Gilbert and essentially 2 seconds into Conor Timmins is one of the most inexplicable pieces of GMing I’ve seen in forever, and I’m a Sabres fan. You can get a Conor Timmins for a 5th-round pick. PIttsburgh did exactly that just 3 months ago. Clifton’s bad and on a bad contract, but it wasn’t anything you couldn’t eat. There was no cap pressure to do anything. There’s a difference between “I don’t like the trade” and something like this that defies logic. Something else has to drop. It feels like they randomly lit a match and burned 2 2nd-rounders.
  16. My only thought on this is JBD said he wanted to go somewhere where he can play regularly and KA told him he would be the 7th dman here also I do know he said Bryson is fine sitting, and is a good soldier about it, so he probably knows he is the 8th dman and it’s fine with that and won’t make a fuss im guessing we sign a guy like Perbix or Brendan Smith to take the JBD role, I’m assuming that is already “figured out”
  17. Again, when you realize that is EXACTLY what he had behind him the year he was a 4th liner on a SC winning squad, it makes sense that he doesn't see the need for a Hasek or a Miller backstopping the crew.
  18. Good signing, really can’t wait to see the numbers Lyon was the only reason Florida won there first cup as he picked up the slack for Bob when he had his slump this is a legit back up that gives us protection if there is a UPL stumble and allows Levi to run it back in the AHL
  19. It wasn't even $875k. It was $866k. But it might've been required to be a 1 way offer. (Not sure how many games he missed on IR and how many he missed simply because he was in the press box.) Still seems petty especially because he actually played really well when paired with Power via the eye test.
  20. I believe the QA was like 875 and the league minimum is 800... if he's really fighting for 75k at this point, Terry really did impose a hard cap.
  21. And are fine sitting in the press box. That's a critical skill. I still think he gets waived at the end of preseason. Every team has that guy. It was just the silly optics of it -- he's not someone you build around. You re-sign him on July 2nd and say "we got a great guy in the locker room to be our 7/8" and then you send him to Rochester.
  22. Adams is a loser though. He betrays that mentality everytime he talks. He's not a leader.
  23. I could live w this.....if it's under 5m.
  24. The might have felt the QA offer was high and are lowballing the agent.
