  1. Past hour
  2. This was always what would happen. He was never gonna be pronger and this board was going to turn on him. He hastened that with an abysmal year under Ruff and Wilford.
  3. One to two. And considering his inexperience his play has been reasonable. I’m not declaring him an all-star but I’m baffled at the negativity directed toward him.
  4. Any plan starts with Pegula selling the team. Anything else just won’t work.
  5. They could have Ken Holland tomorrow to run the hockey dept if Terry swallowed some pride and opened the wallet. He wants back in and is being looked at for the Isles position. This comes down to Terry not trusting hockey people and being cheap with the Sabres. How has not one assistant coach been turfed yet?
  6. How many more years are you willing to give him? 1? 2? 5?
  7. You both wildly underestimate the hubris and ego of ppl at the top of hockey offices while simultaneously refuse to except that NHL gm is not like any other corporate job. There's candidates and the Sabres did not look. So you're providing the same old excuse of "well, there's no one else" which sounds like a wgr afternoon take.
  8. Disregarding potential when making player decisions is foolish. Acting out of frustration is a way to become even more frustrated. If you want Power to be more effective, then find him a more suitable partner.
  9. Maybe I should have said, no one competent wants the job.
  10. No excuses. That’s why an executive needs to be a good recruiter too. Nonetheless, a candidate that has demand certainly would have some incentive to turn down a position if they have evaluated that position to be a career killer.
  11. He’s going to get stronger as he gets older. Just as Tage filled out and got stronger, so will he.
  12. Today
  13. Wasn’t this Byram situation entirely predictable? He was a redundant asset when acquired. Adams had already given huge contracts to Dahlin (deserved) and Power (undeserved). Regardless of performance, the Sabres weren’t going to be able to afford a 3rd huge contract on D. We were never going to invest 1/3 of the cap on 3 D, all LH offensive D, 2 of which can’t actually play defense. Adams even admitted the other day that they didn’t know what to do with Byram when they acquired him. Shocking! So now here we are 1 and 1/4 seasons since acquired and guess what, we are planning to trade Byram. He must be so happy to going elsewhere. I guess the good news is that this will open a roster spot for a defenseman who can actually play defense. Now whether Adams can execute and acquire such a player remains to be seen.
  14. With Dahlin yes. Without him, yeesh.
  15. No one else wants 1 of 32 jobs of its kind in the world even though there's hundreds of front office hockey ppl? Even though they didn't fire Adams so they didn't even look? Don't give them such a feeble excuse for why they are complacent and have accepted incompetence.
  16. I mean, I have theorized as much in the past.
  17. Byram played a better game last season, and displayed much more dynamic play. Right now, betting on potential upside is hope. Hope isn’t a plan.
  18. Maybe no one else wants the job?
  19. Should also be noted that if Terry had asked merely this question in his “meeting” with Terry, Adams would have been stumped and fired.
  20. “You think Power is disappointing? You get on the ice. Skate. Score. I don’t see any goals”. utter nonsense verging on gaslighting. Adams is supposed to be a *professional*. They are supposed to be specially equipped (hypothetically!) to fixing these issues. “can you, not trained and adequately connected and compensated hockey fan o the message board do it? No? Check mate”
  21. Lanky? He’s listed at 226#, which is similar to Tage.
  22. I dunno. Are you requesting a detailed trade X for Y, draft Z kind of breakdown? I think plan equals what decisive change could be made to palpably improve the direction of the franchise. Maybe you've got a different criteria. In any event, what's the point of indulging the yen for playing fantasy GM? It's tiresome at this point to reiterate the kind of needed change that everyone talks about ad nauseam. Find a way to bring in a top 4 RD that plays sound defense to pair with Power, etc. The Sabres have become a perduring league wide embarrassment because of Pegula's earned reputation on the basis of his decisions for the entire tenure of his ownership. Whether he is also the victim of some bad luck or forgivable ignorance, at least at the beginning, is immaterial to where he has now brought the organization. It's evident that no one respects Adams, so continuing to keep him only prolongs and exacerbates the poor negotiating position the Sabres find themselves when it comes to making trades and drawing free agents. The simplest and most efficient way to change that would be to bring in someone with a proven track record and clearly move away from the neuralgic proclivities that are the manifestation of Pegula's fearful or arrogant wounded pride.
  23. Plan. I don’t see any.
  24. How about just fire KA, hire a competent GM, and let the GM make intelligent trades and coaching hires? Here's an idea. Hire Rob Blake. One obvious move would encourage the fans and the players that there is intelligent leadership, rather than madly pursuing the persistent desire of ownership to insulate itself from the consequences of historic ineptitude.
  25. I bet Adam’s put sound effects and animations on every slide.
  26. So. Fix it. You have an idea? Sure. Fire everyone. Now what?
  27. I hate this team. I hate Pegula. I hate that I will likely die before I see a winner in Buffalo and I'm in good health.. Moron franchise. Just morons.
