  1. Past hour
  2. Kyrou would have been a nice get but I have to assume the Sabres would have been adding a LOT more than Peterka in that deal...
  3. He avoided surgery and should be go to go for training camp
  4. It’s a good place to start re: prediction for a Byram deal. Think player with good metrics in more limited minutes we think we can bump up to a larger role Remember l: we aren’t looking for a guy with proven results, here: we are looking for someone unproven in an impact role but theoretically potentially able to play one
  5. Banking on limited usage and hoping it extrapolates is what the Sabres do. So lazy. Just horrendous mechanics leading to this deal you know what, I’m starting to think there’s a at least a *chance* Kevyn Adams might not be a great general manager
  6. And they in fact did do and did get something different. Is it enough, will it work? Wtf knows. HOPEFULLY what they did get is just the 1st of about 4 significant moves that need to be made (ideally along with 2-4 other more minor moves). (Though their thorough refusal to fix the coaching at least until this point leaves one to fear they won't have the skill/stomach to make those additional other 3 significant moves.)
  7. I was worried Adams was going to narrow down trade options for Byram looking for a RHD, did not expect him to do it with his best trade asset. I imagine if they had waited to move Cozens until the offseason there would have been more suitors. I am worried about Kesselring ability to play up the lineup for the Sabres, not because of the player, but the organization’s track record with defenseman outside Dahlin lately is suspect at best. The second last year for Beck and now this trade shows concerning behavior with some asset evaluation. And I do like Kesselring, Doan and Malenstyn on the roster.
  8. They got something different with the return on Peterka. Would love to see the Sabres trade for Rossi and then they still suck and everyone hates him. Because that's how it would go.
  9. Since you brought up Skinner this deal does help the Sabres over next year which is the worst of the buy out at 6.444 Million.
  10. I’m too lazy to look it up. They were all on AHL deals previously, right?
  11. Gotta think that kyrou ones not 1 for 1, especially with peterka's contract demands. Also doesn't really fix the rather broken defense. I like the player though.
  12. I’m not so sure your definition of cost controlled matches mine. You’d have to still be on your ELC for that, at least in my mind.
  13. Servalli reporting that Jordan Kyrou was available in exchange for Peterka. So that’s Rossi and Kyrou that we know of
  14. That's what you're missing. You are being fanatic enough but that's not the critical skill needed. At some point you have to be quiet while the adults talk.
  15. At the moment, I would consider moving Thompson to the left wing. If Quinn is in the top 6, I'm not putting him with a younger center ala his time with Cozens, so Norris gets him. Kulich is very overextended in this lineup. TNT - Kulich - Tuch Benson - Norris - Quinn Zucker - McLeod - Doan Malenstyn - Krebs - Greenway (Lafferty, Kozak, Rosén)
  16. McLeod is pretty well rounded but so is Rossi I believe. McLeod had 23 points the same age Rossi just had 60 So I’d imagine Rossi’s ceiling is quite a bit higher considering he’s already passed mcleods career outlier I don’t really think centres or passers are something Adams is interested in
  17. Not sure if this is real or just some shots taken from the James Webb telescope, but here it is:
  18. Objectively….is Rossi that much better than Ryan McLeod?
  19. He’s a centre, he’s 23, and his career points trajectory so far is 1-40-60
  20. I think your last point is big... how does this play in the locker room... if it serves to discourage and disgruntle players big mistake huge.... if it is addition by subtraction and players like the fact that we are getting some folks that will actually initiate contact and not hide under the bench and we get some grit well then it may be the right move... I think I said before, I think talent wise we lost... the only way we will is if the addition enhances the chemistry and attitude of the team and if the subtraction helps send that message. But I think the result will be seen in the locker room over time. To be continued...
