  1. Past hour
  2. I would love it. He is a face of losing. Dahlin would be happy, and the Sabres could jump start a reset. They just don't have enough good players. If the Sabres are on Power's timeline now, it makes even more sense.
  3. They still get him for 2 more seasons at least as his contract doesn't expire until 2027.
  4. Those are definitely your own words.
  5. And speaking of cars, both of mine need tires at the same time. It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
  6. Did we ever find out how may Byram can do?
  7. On that note, how is Bogosian still in this league?
  8. People will argue over who is better, but Dahlin is a more valuable commodity at this point thanks to the 6 years left on his contract.
  9. How does Fairburn know that Adams' contract status won't come into play? Here's a wild wrinkle. Just the idea Adams is about to be canned ignites the team, saving Adams' job. Remember how rumors of Terry buying the team accompanied the 2010-11 Sabres' implausible run to the playoffs?
  10. I would hate it if Dahlin was traded, period. No one else on this team can carry the puck our of our own zone like he can, and that's just the least of his assets. If Dahlin was on some other team we'd all be wishing we could trade half our team for him. Under a new GM, anyone else could go, but not Dahlin.
  11. Today
  12. Hughes is not as good a two way player as Dahlin. He is like Makar, smaller super skilled D man that use that speed and skill to get the puck where it needs to go. The trade was about circumstance. If the new GM made that trade I would want the old one back. It wouldn't happen though because Dahlin is under contract for longer and I don't think a new GM is going to come in and do a full rebuild. The Quinn trade was so similar to the Eichel trade they must have used it as a blueprint. So far that helped Vegas a lot more than it helped us and I expect this will have a similar result. Marty and Duff were asking Shana Goldman a few weeks ago about how good the Thompson contract looks compared to the new signings. Her reply was the best looking one was Dahlin's and I could see her point. If he were to hit the market today your probably looking at 15 million per year or more. So that will be the issue with Quinn when it comes time. I am sure the Wild will be willing. Now it will be up to Quinn.

  14. Speculation on my part, Pete’s input probably would be doing this will sell tickets
  15. When Floridas ownership handed the keys to Zito, a true hockey mind, look what happened.
  16. Sorry to hear that. Dogs are a big part of a family. Chin up, sounds like there is a chance.
  17. Now that KA being gone is a strong possibility, acquiring an experienced goalie could happen. At this point I just want anyone to provide average goaltending and give this team a chance to win every night.
  18. I don't like the return. Rossi is good. Ohgren, Buium, and a 2026 1st are all mystery boxes. If you're trading Dahlin, I need something like 2026 1st, Sam Dickinson, Will Smith. Igor Chernysov. Some will be mad I'm not saying more established players but that's never how these trades work.
  19. Is Hughes as good as Dahlin (or better or worse?) How would everyone feel if Buffalo had a new GM and traded Dahlin for that return?
  20. Weird stuff alert… At the 11min 45sec mark in the postgame show, Paul Hamilton (not on this road trip) says when the tv cameras focused on Sabs bench, that to him at least, it appears Seth Appert is actually coaching the team, with Lindy standing behind him…these last 2 games. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sabres-hockey/id1142057803?i=1000740961549
  21. I think the Hughes trade is the start of a major rebuild in Vancouver, which means they could retain a big part of EP40s salary, if they get a good return.
  22. This! The rumors of Appert taking over post fire are really concerning. It's the same exact plan that was rumored with Adams. There is no need to move Lindy into the FO mid season and Appert has done nothing, at all, ever, in his career to deserve a shot as bench boss. Adams to HC is just like Forton to assistant coach. It's just Terry handing out favors to friends.
  23. Nice move by Guerin!
  24. No he cannot. Terry has proven that he'll listen to anybody in the building. This is exactly how Adams got the job, by having Terry's ear, and talking to him about things well outside of his role. Adams has to do, and frankly so does Forton.
  25. I don't want DeBoer, I want them to promote Leone and his staff.
  26. Does this help Kevyn's chance of survival watching another GM be worse at their job?
  27. I watched The Hockey Guy's (members only) video where he comments on the trade. He lives in Canucks territory and they're his #1 rooting interest. He basically sounds like Sabrespace in the aftermath of the Eichel trade. He even called the Canucks the worst run team in the history of the NHL. He's pretty despondent. We all know how he feels.
