You hope that Tage and Tuch stay at last year's level. That Quinn, Benson and Kulich take steps. Addition of grit from Doan and Danforth can't hurt. Defense: Good to very good. Kesselring and Timmins are upgrades. If Byram stays we could have a very deep defense. Goaltending: Same, but .... With improved defensive play, Goals allowed should improve. Get UPL to play a controlled game and stop trying too hard. Lyon should see more starts than Reimer.

That's the reality for the upcoming season. There are a lot of "ifs" that are needed to fall in place for this team to have a respectable season. Will they? Maybe or maybe not? Anyone who says for sure that they are confident that the upcoming season will be a surprising success is selling flimsy hope to you. I believe that for this team to be a fringe playoff team it needs to have consistent good goaltending. Will they get it? I don't know??? This is the team that KA constructed; a team full of "maybes". When you are entering the fifth or sixth year of a rebuild by the same GM and that's where you are at, then as a GM, you have failed. Someone tell that to the silent owner who has retained him! Sometimes patience is a virtue and most often too much patience is just stupid.

Are you giving up on Power already? Just because he doesn't play the rugged style of game that you prefer doesn't mean that he won't be a very good defenseman. In fact, as others have point out that his defensive numbers are solid and not as dire as you portray. I'm confident that if he were dangled in a trade that half the teams in the league would attempt to acquire him. Power is a good example where a player gets diminished when he has the misfortune to be stuck in a lackluster franchise. One should be happy that he isn't one of the players (so far) who is screaming (like Jack, Reinhart, ROR, Ullmark, JJP etc.) to get out of this cesspool situation.

No doubt the early days of Adams tenure was under very tight financial constraints. The discussion was focused on the past few seasons and his inability to do enough to improve the 91 point roster.

I think this is quite true. I think they are also meeting or will be to get his overall assessment. If they dont improve substantially this year I think ka is toast

Buffalo has never brought in any kind of significant money into the NHL, one of the main reason they continue to complain privately to the NHL and Canadian CRTC to get games in Canada (this always nowhere since CRTC never listens to any person/company outside of Canada especially people from the the US)

I don't think that this is in opposition to the Shanny report. My quick $0.02 on Pegula-Adams is that they are in lock step on almost everything. Adams operates rather independently but everything he does Pegula is in agreement with and visa versa. So Pegula doesn't want a new GM/POHO to disrupt that.

B.c there are powerful democrats on that list as well. Kesselring was something like top 40 for defenseman in xga so maybe it works but you're right about the games played. Buffalo has less experience than they did which is concerning.

I think Terry wants to get to know Jarmo. Adams is still his friend. Kevyn didn't do great on the last group project but he's still gonna get his name on the next one.

And it went back to the root problem of never getting a legitimate top-4 veteran RHD to pair with Power when he was in his first season. Jokiharju is a fair complementary D-man to the right partner. Everyone is good with Dahlin, and he was good with Zadorov, but he is not the right fit for Power. And he certainly wasn't a grizzled tough veteran and mentor when he skated predominantly with Power in 2 of their first 3 seasons together. Joker was a fantastic trade win and remains a good player, but he's not the guy to lead your #1 overall pick to the fullest of his potential. The question remains... are Kesselring (age 25, 156 GP) or Timmins (age 26, 159 GP) any more qualified now than Jokiharju ever was (now age 26, 407 GP)?

Any evidence that may have existed when Trump took office was there through the Biden administration.
