I wonder why the return is so little?

The offseason so far - Are the Sabres better?

My point was that trading Peterka is not going to help resolve the goals against issue. Quinn, Cozens, Malenstyn, Lafferty, Power, Clifton, Bryson.. those guys were the problem, and as you mentioned, some of them are gone. We'll see if their replacements are any better, but the guys that are still here, notably Quinn and Power, two guys who we can expect to see non-trivial amounts of ice time at even strength.... need to improve. Kesselring was a +4 (+6 team relative), but Danforth a -6 (-8 team relative). -
Apparently X is saying he had a 12 team no trade clause. I would have hoped we tried.
-
It was an attempt at self depreciation (poorly), meaning that most would complain about me being here more.
-
Not sure anything more than a 2nd round pick and a B prospect is worth it for this guy. Worth a flyer...but this isn't a guy you trade anything significant for....especially Benson. Id revolt
-
Canucks trade Mr. Joshua to Leaves for a fourth.
-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benson_(TV_series) It wasn't a very good show.
-
You might be too young 🙂
-
No idea what this means
-
I read an article a few years back that 40% of professional athletes are not happy with their current team.
-
This part must confuse Kevyn. “Wait, you don’t need to trade someone if they ask for it?”
-
“This must be some sort of rule circumvention?” - Kevyn Adams

I think he played a little Center in Juniors. -
"Waddell told Aaron Portzline of The Athletic that he won’t trade Chinakhov unless he gets fair value in return, making it clear he’s not willing to part with the young winger just because he asked out. If a suitable offer doesn’t come before training camp, Waddell still expects Chinakhov to report—but he’ll likely keep exploring trade options in the meantime." https://thehockeywriters.com/chinakhov-requests-trade-mcdavid-more-nhl-rumors-07-17-2025/

I think the best way to think of Chinakhov is Jack Quinn, not exactly his game, but what he is and what he could be: A young winger who has flashed tantalizing offensive talent but has yet to break through and also battled injury and raised questions through at times spotty play. Hed have similar value based on the beholder and be a risky trade for both sides.

Has Benson ever played centre? -

That seems logical to me edit: actually, does it? this bears thinking about. Probably need to let this tumble dry for a bit -
Yeah. Not sure how guys like Quinn and Benson were even mentioned. This guy can’t be worth much. Worth even less because he can’t stay healthy.

As a matter of practicality I don’t see how the model *can* account for it - my point is a function of team building not raw value comp. Let’s see if I can actually convey this- Even if the model has accurately figured out the ratio and a hypothetical +1 is exactly 1/7th the on ice value of a +7, a team won’t get as much value from the 7 pieces as the 1 due to dominance of role if you could figure out EXACTLY what McDavid’s talent was and you divided it among 23 players, which do you take? McDavid or the 23? -

The model says a 21 and 19 1s is literally twice as good a team as 20 1s, 1 player can make a huge difference.
