What difference does any of it make. Adams isn’t trading anyone, whether that’s Pegula telling him he can make no moves or not is irrelevant at this point. This management team simply is unable to get anything done. I reflect back to that statement “the answer is in this room”. There is no help coming, no hope. The only constant I see is that the answer is not in that room. And I find myself asking, how long can this actually go on for?

I just remember the game against the Caps where UPL started and gave up two goals in the first few minutes. Sabres came back to score three goals and led 3-2 after the first period. Caps tied it with less than a minute left in the 2nd period, and UPL blanked them in the 3rd period, blanked them in the OT, and won the extra point by stopping all 5 Caps shooters in the Shootout. UPL has game. Needs to bring it more often. I’m not trading UPL until one of our other goalies starts winning games, and that includes Levi if he gets called up.

I would ditch UPL and that contract immediately. He is as average as the rest of these guys and makes the most out of the 3, if we can get out of that contract it would be ideal imo.

Had the Avs Islanders game on in the background earlier. Randomly caught Bedhar during the postgame and listening to him made me think that it’s wild the Sabres are in the same league. Such a stark contrast listening to that guy after a loss.

Yeah as much as UPL just reminds me of these drought years, and plays small for a big man,…. compared to the other two guys UPL is like Ken Dryden.

There are always teams in need of goaltending help. St Louis is one of them. I wanted Ellis to be a steal. I watch his interviews and I like his temperament.

The 👏 Sabres 👏 don't 👏 lose 👏 money!!! Please stop. It has been shown time and time again that the Sabres have a decently positive net operating income each year. Could they be raking in considerably MORE if they would stop sucking? Sure. But they don't lose money.

I have no issue with them trading UPL, but only under certain conditions.... They're either out of the playoff race or a starting goalie is included in the return (or something else happens that nets them an actual starting goalie) They don't retain any of UPL's salary The offer is too good to refuse ...if they're still within reach of a playoff spot and UPL shows some consistency, then it's probably best they keep him. One other thing... there's folks here worried about the possibility of Ellis getting claimed if Buffalo attempts to assign him to Rochester via waivers. He's not that good, I just don't understand the concern there.

Tage isn’t going to win the Selke at center or wing but he plays freer, with more confidence at center so leave him there. Tuch is capable of very good D so put him on the wing and leave him there. 30% through the season and playoffs are a fading dream so shoot for consistency with the lines so we resemble a team.

1-4-1 They'll win one they shouldn't, get another hard fought game into OT to ultimately lose, probably lose a couple close ones in regulation and get their teeth kicked in (like last night) another time or two. Same old Sabres. Fire Adams, fire Ruff.

Great BUT we still need a true #1 goaltender!

Obviously Ellis let in a lot of goals last night. I had the game on in the background on a smaller TV, so I wasn't able to really assess his play or see the nature of the goals closely. Did Ellis let in any softies? I'm sure there were some that got in that might have been stopped with an elite save, but overall, was he simply hung out to dry and played fine, or did he play poorly? With UPL, often the team plays great in front of him, then he lets in a softie and the team deflates. From what I saw last night, after the first goal that the Sabres scored on the PP, they were terrible for the remainder of the game and no specific poor play by Ellis had anything to do with deflating them. That said, the failed challenge of the goalie interference may have deflated them. The wheels seemed to come off right then and there. Perhaps Lindy saw the wheels coming off and felt that the challenge was worth it to try and salvage momentum by: a) the small chance that the goal would be taken off the board; b) standing behind his guys who thought it was interference; and/or c) the Sabres PK has been good, so if they lost the challenge and killed off the PP, it would fire the team up. Obviously, it didn't work and instead backfired in a big way.

My Medicare costs went up. My Part C supplement cost went up by a lot. Just wife is still too young for Medicare and her he insurance won't pay for a needed orthopedic surgery (fine print hidden cost "gotcha"). So we went back to the ACA market and the price is staggeringly high, more than it was in 2023, but with no tax benefits either. At least this insurance will accept the pre existing condition an not kick us out.

Well at this point in his career I don't think Benson is a legit top 6 forward either. Now don't get me wrong, I like Benson and I like Doan. I think they are the type of players the team has been lacking, but Benson is far from fully developed and Doan is either not fully developed or if he is not quite there. They are imperfect pieces trying to give top lines the missing element. We have a lot of good third liners, but they all end up playing too high in the line up. There's a lot of the "same" on the team.

I am like the Sabres. 0-1 so far.

Reasonable views of how they'd be deployed in both scenarios. But we all KNOW that Krebs will be the 4C and not Kozak.

Personally, I think he's a legit top 6 forward as much or more than Peterka is. He'll never be as dynamic as Peterka, but he has much better forechecking, passing, hockey sense and grit. This is what leads to his off the charts analytics, he gets the puck and then consistently makes smart plays with it. He is constantly winning battles to get the puck and then actually making a good play with it. He's honest to god a top 3-5 passer on the team. His shot, finishing ability, wheels are all in a lower tier but he makes up for it in so many ways. He's basically a bigger, more experienced version of Benson with a little less rat in his game. He's a better fit for this roster and what they've needed. He helps their PP a ton, and is a glue guy for any line he's put on and is typically the best player on his line. Granted, I think if you're relying on him to be much more than he is today then we'll likely be disappointed. I think he tops out as a 20G/60P guy, and might even achieve that this year. Having that on your second line is nothing to sneer at. How I see it, he's going to be a key piece whenever we do turn this thing around. I think they need to get better at the higher positions in the top 6. We cannot continue thinking we can be a playoff team with Tage and Tuch as our two best forwards. Whether that's bottoming out and getting a real impact player via the draft or somehow making a big trade, that's probably the biggest issue with this roster that is not talked about. When that does happen, you'll be very happy to have guys like Doan and Benson that have off the charts hockey IQ and can plug and play on any line. Sorry for the long winded response.

Is that not the definition of jumping onto a bandwagon? As I've said before I've been burned too many times to get too excited too fast. I also see the fundamental flaws in the make up of the team that underly these things so even when they win a few you can see the cracks are still there and they can be exploited. I truly believe that this team as a whole is not taken very seriously by opposing teams as a whole, by the league as a whole, and if it ever gets to the point that they stop and take notice, scout us properly and watch the videos they will all see how the team is flawed and they will play us accordingly. Our ineptitude always inflates our standings. Nothing has really changed with this team, Nothing. I respect your hope and desire. I get it. Watching winning hockey is fun no matter how they do it. I too enjoy watching wins, I just don't even think about playoffs cause that's folly and heartbreak.

My worst nightmare is that you are correct and yet they trade UPL and he is in fact a solid goalie on a good team, like Ullmark. We know what UPL is. At best he is a streaky guy that can win games if he plays a lot and if he gets support, but he will eventually stumble and cost you games. We know what Lyon is. At best he is a short time 1B that can get hot, but the reality is that he is a journeyman #2 We are learning about Ellis.

Really disappointed with Thompson, and last night was the last straw for me. When he wants to play, he's a great player. Unfortunately, the "want" is not there often enough.
