Let's go Bandits! The quest for a 3-Peat has begun

How long is the season? He can be out of there right before the summer heat really kicks in. -
It’s different, but I don’t even see it as shadier than regular gambling, which is a way of extracting money from the unsuspecting. The lottery is a tax on the mathematically challenged. Gambling in casinos is heavily weighted towards the house - yet it is legal. Sports gambling (Draftkings, etc) plays on people’s hometown emotions. This is no different. Just a new way of taking people’s money.

The analysis backed up by the clip was fair. In close games the attention to details is the difference between winning and losing, especially playoff hockey. I thought that Tage’s game was too much a singular game and not enough in sync with his linemates. He seemed to be pressing to score and forcing play instead of letting the game come to him.
-
The team doesn’t need to move in. The people complaining about the contract have to.
-
We need players like Doan who are high effort guys that play 200 feet. Hopefully his offense can stay consistent. If he is not scoring there is a lot more to his game. Peterka, if he does not score is not contributing anything really.
-
I was happy to see Doan coming to Buffalo. Word out west is that he played with a high motor. Comparables to his Dad’s work ethic and personality were flattering, but can he finish? That is the question. So far in Buffalo he is making things happen and bringing a work ethic to the rink that Buffalo fans want to see. It’s early, but Doan is settling in. Hope the long winter doesn’t bother him, he is a desert kid.

Would Georgiev accept an outright release at this point? There's a point every season when goalies get injured and your extra keeper suddenly becomes a trade asset. Only fans get caught up in artificial deadlines. There is no downside to keeping UPL in Rochester a little longer, and even once he's in Buffalo, keeping three goalies. Eventually something has to change but we're weeks from that.
-
When evaluating a trade like this sometimes the stats don’t tell the full story. The added value that Doan adds go beyond the offensive stats. In my view, the Sabres are better and more balanced team with him. And if Kesserling plays up to expectations, this will become a terrific deal for us. And that is not to say that it won’t be a good deal for Utah.

After seven games, Sabres top three point leaders: Quinn, Doan and Benson

I didn’t watch him play before he came to Buffalo. It seems to me that he was a young developing player with them who is now crossing the threshold to being a regular and established NHL player. What I like about him is that in Buffalo he recognized that he had an opportunity to play, and he has seized that opportunity. Another thing I like about him is that he knows what type of player he is (physical and net presence) and stays true to his game. He’s not a floater but rather a hard charger. He was a terrific addition. I’ve been a harsh critic of KA, but in this case he made a team improving hockey deal.

Here’s the thing with goalies: a game, a week, a month, even a season, won’t prove much. Outside of a select battle-tested few, you won’t know what you are getting; a stud today will be a dud tomorrow. And even the good ones aren’t always good (see Swayman and Saros a year ago, as just two examples). So, trading UPL because Lyon has had a nice start to the year and Ellis looked good in his first game, might be foolish. It could also prove smart as we don’t know what UPL is going to do either. The two teams I could see having the most interest in UPL are Philadelphia and Carolina.

When do we trade Dahlin and Thompson? 🤔

So far, so good.

I've never had a Sabres sweater with a player name. But...
