Early in his career, he’d play solid for 3 to 5 games when needed before sitting in the press box a month. Likely because he’d play simple hockey and not try to over play to keep a roster spot.

NB, you can delete this, right?
-
Not sure if my kids went or not; did get them tix. Back when the criminals owned the team, this was pretty much an annual staple right before the season started. Hopefully it becomes a thing again. There's plans for the equipment sale to be an annual thing.

Josh Allen becoming part owner of Sabres

Paraphrasing a comedian I saw - Boomers on the internet/Facebook is like a toddler in the kitchen reaching up and feeling around on the counter… -
The Hopium Den: 10 reasons why the Sabres could be better this year

Before watching him in the preseason was right there with Marty expecting a big year from him. Hopefully he's more the Jack Quinn that we saw in the 3rd period against the BJs than the one we saw the 1st 2 periods against them. Since it's the Hopium thread; should Marty be right, that'll go a long way towards giving them a legit shot of ending the drought. -

Bulldog's kid is now on GR? Didn't see that bit of nepotism happening for some reason. Good for him? -
Players annual Corn Hole tournament.

When was this?

Jacob Bryson, great guy, used to be a solid spot starter but has become more and more of a liability and pariah to fans as he’s been used far too much the last 2 years.
-
Neither did I, but the market is certainly helping cap his contract numbers. Also Kaprisov is starting to look ugly for at least 2/3 years.
-
Jesus, didn’t think Tuch would be the last man standing.
-
Thank god, was terrified he was going to Boston next year to bail them out of prison.
-
At least he won't be a Bruin anytime soon. But seeing him sign another 8 year deal stings a bit. Should've been a Sabre for life along with his bike riding buddy.
-
This is a real thing in the Corporate world. People who are killing it will get raises, but are usually kept at what they excel at. The ones who suck, get promoted.
-
Damn…I thought for sure Johnny would be heading to Boston in FA. I was wrong. 😱
- Today

I mean I certainly would rotate one game/one game until one of them shows better then the other, and I do agree Ellis is intriguing
-
You know what? Start the guy tomorrow. We know what we're getting in Lyon. 3-4 goals per game and whatever. Let's see what Ellis can do. Losing 6-3 doesn't hurt anymore than losing by any other score, and just maybe the kid can hold the net down.
-
Not if we hire the right sniper.

Jack Eichel getting paid
-
Nikita Novikov Also the Bruins being good this year is highly questionable, not sure we want to emulate them right now
-
So much for the posters who say “he is a good soldier that will be up in the press box all season”. Oops…this joke of a blueliner will be in the lineup at least 30-40 games this season.
-
I wanted Silovs too to be honest

Sabres to place Alexandar Georgiev on waivers today

Goalie is the hardest situation to fix though, Unless Boston is tired of Swaymans antics anytime soon and they will send him west anyway. I doubt we can have a shot at a good goalie via trade. 15 Teams are looking for the same thing as us for years now. I like the Ellis waiver claim just for this reason alone, have to take shots until someone works out. -
I thought the same thing. Maybe Ruff saw something in practice with Bryson he liked? Maybe he doesn't want to put Ryan Johnson in a high pressure situation right away with the team already banged up? Maybe he's worried about Power or Muel reaggravating their injury and thinks Bryson offers him more flexibility to pick up the additional workload if that happens? I'm hoping if they struggle Lindy has a plan to reshuffle the lines or play Timmons and Power or Muel (🤮) as the 2nd pairing. I'm already missing Kesselring and he hasn't even played a regular season game yet...

I had honestly no problem with any of the signings... but they are stop gap depth signings... Adams seems to be focused on these types... he unfortunately may not understand he has a problem... or he is simply incapable of fixing it... cause its been a problem since Ryan Miller left... which poses the question... where we you when Ryan Miller left... he had a shot in Ulmark, but he whiffed on that...
