Dahlin is taking a leave of absence to return to Sweden
Crusader1969 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
The Sabres ***** up with Jack Eichel and it has cost them / us dearly did anyone else see the JJP " mic'd up" opening faceoff vs Tuch? He said to Tuch "you can not believe how well they treat us" meaning the organization As you said and I 100% agree - Sabres need to be known as a team that support their players. Eventually that will pay them back on spades. Hopefully Dahlin can reset mentally. However, I still think having his offseason routine disturbed is a major factor in his play. So I don't think we will see the "elite" level of play this season -

If I was Ras, I would run away too. I hope they are okay, but good lord, it was already hard enough to find reasons to watch. That task just became that much more difficult. -

It's funny, when I check the standings, I see that the Sabres are last in the Atlantic and last in the Eastern Conference. That's some good hockey. -

Bigger than hockey. Take care of your family. Selfishly, sucks losing our best player with no idea of when he'll be back. Wish we could have a season that wasn't one calamity after another. -

Yea, I have stated a bunch I think they're a 85ish pt team. I think in the prediction thread I gave them 95pts and playoffs but quite a few have been saying this team is roughly the same but with good goaltending. -

Lindy lost a brother young (Swift Current Broncos) and had a kid with cancer. He gets it. -
Maybe because McBeane proved themselves to be worthy of little to no supervision. And Beane is always willing to let Terry hang out at and play with the cool football team. On top of all that Terry and Kim mixed in well with the NFL owners and NFL elite, but that is not how the NHL works.

Not sure I’d shoe shopping should be on the list of things to search for but perhaps during his time looking for some new kicks he can also dig into his soul a bit. 😛 Damn beat me to it -

To be fair, he did say “sole searching”. Maybe he thinks Dahlin is a foot guy. -

I should couch it as a worst-case fear and 99.5% unlikely to transpire, and I admit it is abhorrently cynical. But I've seen companies retaliate against employees before. And in the NHL/sports-world, it's easy to positively spin a trade as doing what's right for the player and "needed a change of scenery". It can even become a mutual agreement. But behind closed doors, it's just suits saying we can: Lose just as easily and we weren't winning with him Get a ton of assets for next season's GM to work with Extend our new core and culture of Tuch, Benson, Doan, and Kesselring Power's salary will be justified if he gets 50 points because of PP1 time Let the owner focus on the fun Bills and push that pesky hockey expectations can further down the road -

Obviously I don't know the details of her surgery and recovery process, but I assume there are different restrictions for short flights and intercontinental ones. -

OR They rally, they hang in there, and stay in the race. It would be nice to get healthy and still be in the race. It would be nice to cheer for something for an entire season. They need new hero's every night. It is team game and they need to hang in there together. -

I'm glad he's doing this and I can't be bothered to try and assign a reason why he's doing it, let alone the timing of why he's doing it. At least not in a way that would attempt to explain HIS thinking. I think there's plenty of people who are attempting to explain HIS thinking when they are really explaining THEIR thinking as they pretend to be in the situation. So, in the vein of throwing out wild ideas. He realized that they needed a roster spot so Geersten doesn't need to be waived and they can keep 3 goalies on the roster. Or.. he fondly recalls those games in Sweden in 2019 and realized it was the 6 year anniversary and decided he wanted to go back to celebrate. Or.. I'm glad I have no reference to compare it to. I'm glad I'm not that much "stronger" for having to work through it. I can however honestly say I wish they never had to go through it either. I can't even imagine.
