  1. Past hour
  2. That Edmonton press release looks like a Wheaties box.
  3. Well, shoot. He could've just waited until next summer and signed with the Sabres for that. C'mon, Sheevyn! What even are you doing? šŸ˜‡
  4. When he's motivated, he can still be a world beater. Problem is, he wasn't motivated his last year at least (and arguably last 2 years) in Buffalo and he won't likely be motivated to this degree again often in Cheatland. When he isn't motivated, he's a huge distraction. Looking forward to Maye, McCown, or Vrabel looking at him crossways one time and him going back into pouty mode. (The sooner, the better. šŸ˜‰ )
  5. No, he just printed the paper. McDavid wants to win with Oilers, and he dictated the terms. I can't think it went any other way.
  6. The pressure is to surround McDavid with enough talent to get a cup or he's gone in 3 years.
  7. Feel the pressure? He absolutely killed it here.
  8. How does he not demand $20 mil a year if the dude from Minnesota is getting $17??
  9. Or, try to get him back on the "Okposo" as a veteran leader who can move around the lineup.
  10. Knaublach cursed that team with his tasteless 'lil faux pas They won't win šŸ’© until he's replaced
  11. Feel the preasure Stan Bowman.
  12. Since the start of the year the quality of this group has declined significantly. The recent spate of rhetoric, passive aggressiveness, and personal attacks has sealed the deal for me. So I am asking the rest of you for your input. I think what is happening in this club does not provide benefit to the overall forum as a whole and only serves to provide an additional pathway to negativity. The Sabres have provided enough of that on their own. I am traveling a lot this month and will barely be around to moderate. It's clear that despite repeated messages the intent to lower the flames here has failed. This has resulted in my decision to stop moderating this club. I will place a poll for people to determine the future. At the end of this week, by Friday morning, my interactions with this club will be over.
  13. I think that deal is great for Edmonton. You get the remainder of "Prime McDavid", for 3 more seasons. At that point, your team is getting really old, McDavid will be entering his age 31-32 season. You COULD try to re-sign him, but at the current contract, you are getting the very best he has left in his career while your team window is open at a value price.
  14. This helps us in the Tuch negotiations in my honest opionon
  15. I actually think this helps us in the Tuch negotiations
  16. Translation: Make this team better or I’m gone!
  17. I just posted it elsewhere, but I would LOVE that deal for Tuch. If I were the Sabres, I'd throw a party if he signed for a 2 year extension (You'd have him for 3 more years through the season he turns 32, 2027-28, someone else can pay him beyond that)
  18. Yes, it can. But as I indicated, there are those who would say, "if I have to do that, then this is not the place I want to live any longer." As for fear and paranoia not being subjective we simply need to look at the FUD being bandied about on a daily basis. It's all about conjuring up fear where it likely shouldn't exist. It's not about painting a realistic picture but instead one with intent to "scare" people into an action whether it's statistically relevant or not.
  19. Tuch should sign for 2 x $12.25M as a prove it deal (to the owner). Then, go to Florida or Las Vegas on a Cup-mission spite discount.
  20. I'd take the exact same deal for Tuch. Not going to happen but give him a ton of money but limit it to 2 years, sign me up.
  21. It looks like only $12.5m per year. If that is true, he is doing EDM a HUGE favor
  22. 2 years at $12.5 m per year for McDavid is what is floating out there.
  23. I like the player, but $48.5M per year is way too high a cap hit for me. šŸ˜‡
  24. 2 years for McDavid per Ryan Rishaug
  25. Today
  26. This is from Sportsnet: Terms of the deal were not initially available. However, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on the 32 Thoughts Podcast earlier Monday that a short-term contract was expected. "I'm not even convinced it's gonna be as long as four years, if he signs. I think it could be less than that. And as I've been saying all the way along, I think it's going to be lower than many people expect, below $16 (million), if he signs. I would be surprised if it's close to that," Friedman said. Meanwhile, Sportsnet's Mark Spector reported the salary could land "quite possibly in $15 million range" annually, which would be lower than Kirill Kaprizov's record-setting eight-year, $136 million ($17 million AAV) contract with the Minnesota Wild. If this is the case this actually would be really good for the Sabres cause it would show even the best player in the world takes less money to play where he wants to play, so maybe Tuch would do the same
