Ruff on 'GR this morning: Zucker hasn't eaten solid food in 9 days!
LTS replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
eeesh.. my brother-in-law just got discharged from the hospital with viral meningitis... he's lost a ton of weight, barely can move, needs a walker, etc. It sounds like Zucker is experience is along the same lines. I'm not saying its viral meningitis by any means, but whatever he's got is pretty damn serious. -
Bradys calls the game the McDermott tells him to call. If you want a play caller who will always be aggressive, what you really want is a new head coach.

I haven’t been able to hold down solid food since watching these bums take the ice opening night -
I keep seeing other teams making santa across the middle look so easy, matched up on linebackers, or rub routes, etc.... I see absolutley zero of that with this team, nothing to establish a quick passing game... Some is on the players but that's on Brady I think more.... We put a Geo storm engine in the Z06 and I don't like it

Nobody is above criticism, not even the best players. But dumb or not, I hope Josh never loses his desire to give that extra effort in trying to make a play. Same with Cook.

Adams was hired as an assistant coach in August 2011 (after the Sabres made their run to the playoffs ... and lost v. Leino). They have been cursed ever since. Clearly, the only fix is to fire Adams and eliminate him entirely from the franchise. Pegula needs to sacrifice his friend to the hockey gods.

Josh's fumble happened while fighting for that 14th yard on a play that needed 1 yard. Not a smart play. His end zone pic was also a bad one. I love Allen, but he is not above criticism for his mistakes in that game. Score on those drives and it is different game. Brad, Ladd, Chad, Vlad, that kid can play. Looking at his stats, he would help Allen a lot.

Jiri Kulich to miss significant time with blood clots

What kind of person are you? You are suppose to blame, scorn, and attack all others that have opinions that differ from yours, all while promoting freedom, diversity, and human rights. -

They finally find a veteran that wants to help this mess of a franchise, can still play the game, that keeps a cool head, and that can play on any of the top 3 lines and fit in. And now this. -

I feel for Zucker & all the other players that are out... but it's getting comical at this point -

The hockey gods are enacting discipline for such a hapless franchise -
Ruff speaking with the morning show, discussing a viral ailment Zucker is dealing with. Hasn't eaten solid for in 9 days, lost a lot of weight, doctors still haven't figured out what it is exactly. Even when he's over it, the weight loss and weakness will take a long time to overcome. Oy vey. I can't link this interview from my phone but it's in the 9am hour of today's show.

Could be right, I would expect Billion dollar franchises to have access to things we don't... But then I also hear stories of basic things getting messed up too just like I would see at my hospital lol. I have never had the privilege of working behind the scenes in a sports setting... Except one time I was the suture doc at a boxing match near me... Legit my whole job was to suture cuts in between rounds, they had like 4 docs, each with their own specialty, kinda cool. But just shows what access is available. -
The fumbles sucked, but I can’t get angry when they’re the result of extra effort by the player fighting for every extra yard. Pretty sure it’s Chad.

I don't know all the medical stuff, but I know imaging tech is like any other electronics based tech... continually improved/refreshed. I've heard that the software that helps detect anomalies has improved by leaps and bounds (mostly articles I've seen about cancer detection). Also I would think that team doctors are more inclined to request blood tests and imaging than in the past simply because of the availability of these tools and knowing what severe bruising can do. I would bet that 10 or more years ago, this testing was used primarily if a player is showing symptoms but now it's used more routinely. If you look more, you're likely to find more. Which is great news; you don't want an issue to fester and get worse if you can treat it early. (Didn't clotting hasten... Mair's retirement? Or was is Kaleta? Or...?) -
Some believe that Eichel wanted out before the injury, and not long after he re-signed the extension. Adam’s went on the spying road trip and did not like what he saw from the core. The Sabres tanking to the bare studs, acquiring Reinhart and Eichel, and still blowing the rebuild is a case study on sports management incompetence.

See that's where I don't know what these guys go through.... Typically for extremity clots, there are symptoms, swelling, redness, pain, etc... Then we get Ultrasound dopplet studies and easy to find, for ones in the lungs and near other structures, then we are looking for a CT angio or MRA/MRV and those just aren't tests that we do full body scans on. For CT, injectable dye has to be timed correctly to catch clotting and MRIs take foreverrrrr. I'm guessing a basic hypercoaguable panel is run at some point on these guys to see if the bloodwork shows, but even those tests aren't standard practice. Sometime it's just bad luck -

Some classic stuff here. -
So we are trading Tuch now??? why would anyone entertain this rumor? I don’t want Adams trading anybody. Fire Adams and let the new GM handle the roster.

At this point I don't care what people did during that very trying and scary time. There was a lot of information, misinformation and distrust going around. Now that we're out the other side I don't fault anyone for the decisions they made. -
I don’t think Adams can fool anyone anymore. He traded for a player that can't stay healthy, he traded JJ without fixing the hole that caused. The defense has been badly constructed for years. And then there are our seven goaltenders...
