  1. Past hour
  2. For sure. And I wouldn't, either. Tuch got to live out his childhood dream playing in red and black, and in blue and gold. That's awesome. But now, he should live out his childhood dream of playing for a Cup contender. The Sabres are at least 3 years away from that (unless they sign McDavid in UFA next summer... which, he should also be looking to join a contender, not a perpetual rebuild). Alex, go -- be free! But even if he were to re-sign in Buffalo, he should still wait until 7/1/26 and the stupid levels of money that will be available.
  3. If I were Tuch I wouldn't sign here at all. He is an A+ player who would be a valuable addition to every roster in the NHL. With likely my last ever NHL contract I would be chasing a cup not ending a historically bad playoff draught.
  4. I'm a fan of Greenway, but he is oft-injured. I understand the injury-prone comparison to Milano, but the difference is that a healthy Greenway is a solid contributor whereas a healthy Milano is a standout player. Let's hope both guys can get healthy and have productive seasons.
  5. I appreciate where you’re coming from here, but more than my concern for who replaces these traitors, is my concern for the very fabric of our country; our people. I’d like to think it’s as easy as people simply realizing they voted for incompetent buffoons and having a change of heart, but I don’t think it’s that easy in the least. A good portion of our citizenry has become anti-Constitution, anti-rule of law, and no longer places a high value on character as the starting point for the traits required to hold elected office. One thing that gave me hope was Bernie Sanders’s tour of West Virginia last month. The clueless Democratic party needs to take a lesson from that tour and go to all those formerly blue, now red places and LISTEN to those voters and INFORM them of their ideas for solving the issues those voters are facing. It’s amazing how much alike those issues are with people in the bluest of states. But democrat power brokers are just as beholding to their billionaire puppet masters as the GOP, so I’m skeptical they will do that.
  6. I was looking forward to no Lafferty's or Lafferty+'s this year. I'd much rather play Tyson Kozak.
  7. I didn’t read deep enough to see anything beyond the full roster from the first post. That would be the perfect spot for them to include it, right at the start.
  8. Should we once again bring up the fact that the "low IQ easily brainwashed people" were more abundant in their voting than those you do not put in that group? Once the left controls everything we'll just be getting bent over by a different form of dictator. The belief that the left is somehow the "good guy" indicates just as much brainwashing as the people you are throwing shade at.
  9. What on Earth are you talking about? Are you inferring that hockey players do not have any control over their lives and decisions? What does idolatry have to do with anything? If anything the player is even more drawn to playing hockey because of it, but it remains their choice. It sounds like you are indicating they have choice.
  10. I don't DISLIKE Byram, its just I need to see him take another step up. Forget about taking over a game, I just don't ever really see him using his talent to even take over a single shift all that often. Thats the eye test. As far as results/analytics go, he had a chance to be the #1 guy back there when Dahlin was out and he wasn't that good and the team was awful. His analytics...when he is NOT with Dahlin they are actually pretty bad (below 50% in most major categories). WITH Dahlin they are better, but EVERYONE's are better with Dahlin. I mean, I kinda do like Bryam for his visible skill, I just want him to step up a bit more and make more use of it. I just don't think we have seen him take advantage of all the skill he has yet.
  11. Hmmm. I read that as Adams is saying that Tuch has indicated he wants to be here and not that Adams thinks Tuch wants to be here. And so.. even then, it's all still nothing. Yes, but each day he doesn't sign is one day closer to a trade deadline. So people are going to watch this, just like every fan watches every pending UFA on every team, every year. It's nothing different.
  12. Agreed on the last point especially. We know versions of the saying "Can toughness be taught" or "you can't teach toughness". But you know what you CAN teach? You can teach a guy with his height and his size and his reach to position himself better to take away lanes, to use that reach to push the puck away from opposing players better than you could with a guy who needs to take an extra step or two to get there because he has less reach size. We've had 'big-ish' guys supposedly with talent who were physical and hit (Bogo, Risto) that had awful positioning and didn't use their size strategically and they weren't good. On the other hand, here on the Sabres you also had 'big-ish' guys that didn't hit, but used their size and reach and positioned themself well and ended up being pretty darn good in their own zone because of HOW they used their size (Schmelik and Tallinder) Power is taller and has a bette reach than all of those guys, and arguably more upside offensive talent. If/when he learns how to position himself, how to take angles, how to make the 'smart' play in the defensive zone, he could/should be better than any of them.
  13. Today
  14. Yea because Quinn and Peterka were not on the pk or being given 1st pp time then. Olofsson, Tuch, Tage, Dahlin, and Cozens were top pp unit. Also, I'm thinking of Pominville not Max
  15. Fulp? Who’s penning this crap
  16. Sam Lafferty before Lafferty arrived in Buffalo. Danforth has averaged 2+ minutes more per game than Lafferty did over their careers, but he's a Lafferty+, which is an improvement over last year's roster. And Lafferty > Ellis.
  17. Fulp was a late AHL signing
  18. It is essentially contract-based. Team Gold: F - all AHL contracts: Costantini, Joshua, Kuntar, Savage, Slaggert D - Bedkowski-unsigned, Brunet-unsigned, Fulp-- camp invite?, Tischke-AHL G - Leenders and Meloche-unsigned rookies
  19. I wish they'd include contract status on those rosters (draftee vs. AHL vs. NHL). It would help a bit while I'm playing the "who is that guy" game.
  20. Danforth has 64 points in 183 NHL games: or 29 points per 82 games. Ellis had 49 points in 356: 11 points per 82. I appreciate the parallels, but it shouldn't be lost that Danforth is a better player than Matt Ellis.
  21. When I was a kid I knew this other slightly younger kid who would opine that, if only a few of my birthdays would be accidentally missed, we could be the same age one day. Used to inwardly chuckle at the impossibly but frankly, me catching you, due to you missing an opportunity to post is somehow seemingly less likely
  22. I think Ziemer can be a Zucker, good complimentary 3W who can float up to 2W and not hurt you. And... if his shot improves, maybe he gives you that one Verhaeghe breakout season where he plays 60 games on the top line because of injury and reaps the benefits. Then, depending on whether you've already inked him to a second deal it's either an awesome contract, or it's the reason he leaves via UFA/trade. Poltapov may only play a single season for the Sabres/Amerks (unless traded), but I do believe he'll come over. He wants to go the Kaprizov route rather than the rushed/unready Kisakov path. 3W with some finish.
  23. Nothing to concede. It’s more a discussion about deployment rather than effectiveness, for me at least. Cozens was 4th, Quinn 9th and Peterka 11th in ATOI among forwards. Roy was 5th, Max 6th, and Vanek 9th in 05/06. Once again, the labels we attach based on pre-game depth charts don’t reflect reality.
  24. It’s actually kinda funny. 10 years of posting, all through the absolute muck. All of it Relatively positive poster, all things considered
  25. Fixed that for you 😇
  26. Holy Schnikes I’m nearly at 40k just need a few more placeholders like this post
