  1. Past hour
  2. Hellebuck still hasn’t shown he can step up on the road. The whole team really. I would genuinely be shocked if it gets back to Winnipeg. We need like 2 to 3 guys like that I think. The level of intensity and nastiness on the Sabres is still so lacking.
  3. I’d have to agree. Not sure why you are. My post didn’t suggest it was, and “Terry cares, that should be enough” is not exactly a sentiment I see frequently posted around here. 🤷
  4. Yes, FLO hockey put game 1 out for free. I'm check to see if game 2 will also be free. Wasn't MSG going to broadcast these games too? You can at least listen to the radio call on WROC The Fan FM 95.7/AM 950. They stream. If Game 2 is free, it will be on here. https://youtube.com/@flohockey?si=vFW7dWJMBHzS2tOx
  5. Today
  6. It’s definitely on FloHockey. Last game was on FloSports YouTube channel. Hope that helps.
  7. I am onboard the Brady Martin train. But my gut tells Boston will draft him.
  8. Sorry if it's been mentioned, is the game on TV or streaming somewhere?
  9. Thry are playing the best team in the AHL. Five points better than the next best team. The Amerks just might not be good enough.
  10. If Karmanos replaced KA as the GM, I would be ecstatic. I would definitely rather have him reworking the roster than the current feckless GM. I’m sure that KA is a fine fellow but he has demonstrated that he is not up to the challenges that the GM position requires. Some judgments are difficult to make; this is not one of them.
  11. I like ruthless. I love it. The anti Zegras. Kids like Zegras want hitting taken out of hockey and for it to be figure skating with scoring.
  12. I am not certain about Hershey this year but I just ran the numbers from AHL Tracker about the skaters that were on the ice last game. Average age of the Amerks was 24.4. The average age for Laval was 24.7. Laval had 11 skaters under the age of 24. We only had 9. The Amerks have no excuses. This is one of the best lineups they have put on the ice and they went into the series healthy.
  13. So crazy this Dallas-Winnipeg series, Winnipeg can’t win on the road and Dallas hasn’t looked like they did against Colorado when they are in Winnipeg. Whoever comes out of this series which I hope will be Dallas just hope they knock out Edmonton. And they better not let McDavid and Draisaitl just dance around without punishing both of them!
  14. Seems like a silly thing to say in a thread discussing Amerks playoff hockey
  15. I wish we had a Sam Bennett/Jamie Benn type on our team.
  16. How about after 7 seasons? The important thing to note is that if somehow Sheevyn returns next season as GM, then Appert is the coach. After a very thorough search and interview process.
  17. Mitch Love, Todd Nelson, Glen Gulutzan, Marco Sturm. This shouldn’t be complicated. There are no guarantees. We are not bringing Jim Nill and Peter DeBoer over from Dallas. When Adams and Ruff are gone (and they will be gone barring an unlikely 89 point WC2 finish that gets them multi-year extensions), the Sabres will be moving on to a new unproven GM. Every day that the Sabres don’t try to find their Nill, Cheveldayoff, Brind’Amour, or Carbery, is just a day wasted by putting off the inevitable. Adams is not going to be the first GM in NHL history to finally figure it out after 5 seasons of missing the playoffs with one team.
  18. I think I am just gonna simplify it almost like you said it... We need to draft some skilled Aholes with decent size... You had me at destroy LOL
  19. Karmanos helped build the Sabres analytics department. The analytics department is why Benson and McLeod are here.
  20. Until proven otherwise Vinc is the best NLL playoff goalie of all time.
  21. I wonder how much influence Karmonos has in the Sabre hockey operation? I'm aware that he's the GM of the Amerks but does he also have meaningful influence within the Sabre realm? I'm also aware that he hasn't relocated his residence to western NY. Although I'm sure he does spend a lot of time further north to attend to his responsibilities, does it diminish his influence within the organization? I wonder how things would change if Karmonos was elevated to the GM position that KA currently has with KA moving to a more ceremonial position as an overseer of the operation. Just curious.
  22. The Amerks finished with 4th best record despite having one of the youngest rosters in the AHL. Teams like Hershey and Laval are more veteran heavy.
  23. Dhane Smith NLL OPoY. But Saskatchewan has two players with post season awards, including goalie of the year. https://share.google/IilkgESjvH8cOEqen It's going to be tough having both the Amerks and Bandits playing at the same time tonight.
  24. Very interesting article! I just finished reading an article about the Caps season and how they surprised so many people--themselves included--by doing so well. The Caps did it with a coach who was not an inside guy at all, Spencer Carbury. He seems like a great coach and he sure got great results. Tocchet is one of the Orange Boys for sure. Reminds me of the Sabres going with Ruff, in a way. What the article above takes umbrage with is the timeline on winning. Brier and Jones want to win now but the author thinks the Flyers are years away from competing seriously. The Flyers, like many teams, don't have a good goalie. The Caps found two good goalies somehow so maybe they Flyers do also, but I agree with the writer that Tochett is probably the wrong way to go. Brier went with someone he knows. I like our Sabres situation more than the Flyers situation. If this is Ruff's last season I sure hope we reach out to a Carbury type rather than a Tochett type of coach. But, Brindamour is an inside guy, and has his team playing super great.
  25. As Cam Robinson from EP wrote, "Brady Martin has one gear and it's the destroy the world gear." I'm not convinced he's the most skilled player and his skating is ... fine but he's physically involved everywhere and his pace is nightmarish. The U18s he simply overwhelmed everyone in his path. That said... I still prefer Bear. Bear has less hitting but more skill imo.
  26. I fully agree we've needed more A-holes for years now. Benson, Ziemer, Helenius have some of that jam. Bear and Martin would be the 2 at 9 that fit the mold. Or... you risk it all on McQueen who is also physical and 6'5"
