Bandits '25-'26 - Will the 4th Time Also Be the Charm

Bandits raised their 3rd consective and 7th overall Championship Banner tonight before taking on the Georgia Swarm.

Gave up a goal on the 1st shot less than a minute in, but then the Great Dhane scored on the Bandits' 1st shot to tie it back up.  Georgia got the next one but then the Bandits got their act together.  They led most of the rest of the 1st half, but Georgia got a couple of late goals to tie it at 8 through 2.

Georgia got another quick goal at the start of the 3rd to take their last lead of the game.  Bandits scored the next 4.  Final was 15-11.  Smith had 4.  MacKay had a pair.  Pretty sure Byrne had a pair.  Nanticoke with one or 2.  The Captain had a very uncharacteristic goal - it looked like one you'd expect Buchanon to score coming out of the corner and then driving to the net.  Robinson had an empty netter to close out the scoring.  Don't recall who got the others.  One of them was by one of the guys that had been a Bandit a few years ago and his name is drawing a blank right now (it's late, this kid is heading to bed very soon).

Frasier who's now playing for a team out west was on the floor for the banner raising ceremony, which was cool.  He's been a big part of the 3 championships.  Cloutier is also gone.  Martin retired.  They replaced him with DeSnoo.  Brought in a couple other veterans.  Spanger is still out from the injury he suffered down the stretch, but has been practicing, so he's close to being back.

Next game is at home on the 13th vs Halifax.

Nice start to the season.

Sucks they lost Fraser and Cloutier but nice to see familiar faces Ryan Benesch and Mitch De Snoo back with them...

This team is still a wagon...

3 straight championships and 5 straight Finals appearances is quite the run they have had so far...

Saw that Dhane goal while waiting for the Sabres game to start. What an incredible power move that was!

Was the game sold out or close to it? The few times I have seen them on tv the crowd was energized and having a great time with most of the fans with a beer in their hands.

They announced it was a sellout.

Also, supposedly the game was shown on Channel 4.  (Not in the Buffalo market, so have to take Gurtler's word for it.)  So, people in the Buffalo market might want to check the listings for the 13th when the Bandits host the Thunderbirds.

I strongly believe that if the Sabres were a serious franchise that the arena would also regularly be filled with raucous crowds. It’s a good hockey market that has foolishly been mismanaged. It needed not been that way.

It was on Ch. 4.  All Bandits games will be on Ch. 4 or CW23 unless televised nationally.

I'm sure the NLL loves having one franchise that can draw 19K on a regular basis. But with the Bandits being so dominant, none of if the other teams can get their fans pumped up like ours.

Keep in mind Bandits ticket prices are half what Sabres prices are. More people can afford to go to games. It helps they are the class of the league.

Keep in mind Bandits ticket prices are half what Sabres prices are. More people can afford to go to games. It helps they are the class of the league.

I’m aware that the ticket price is a factor in filling the arena. But the more important factors relate to the high level of play and competitiveness, just like the Bills with the high cost tickets.

Buffalo and the surrounding area, including southern Ontario, is a terrific hockey market. Terry P has withered what should be a vibrant hockey market. Foolishness and gross incompetence are not traits that enhance promoting your entertainment product.

I was hoping to stumble upon a TP has killed the hockey market post. Fortunate to find it amidst the Bandits discussion. Couldn’t find it elsewhere.
