Wow.

That was a pretty sweet post.

This team even had the problem of playing only half of a game in 06-07, but then they had enough talent to win the games despite that. This team plays that way, but isn't good enough to collect points doing that. It seems that one hardworking, magical season in 05-06 gave them too much confidence, and they still are suffering from it, as it is the same people playing this way for the past however many years it has been.

Very disappointing game...

They don't show up AT HOME for 40 minutes against the leagues worst team in GAA, finish with one goal and lose. Is there anything more to be said? Another one of those moral victories?

:(

Yes and No.

It's been said here by many but is worth repeating. It is obvious that the top six of this team(s) grown up togther from Rochacha needs to be changed.

Second if the current owner loves his current front office family so much that he can't bring himself to fire them then move Darcy now to head of scouting and Ruff to GM and either hire a new coach or allow Patrick to be the interim head coach for the rest of the season while Ruff presides over the deadline sell off and start of the changes for next year. I don't mind seeing Lindy upstairs and not behind the bench.

What qualifications does Ruff have to be GM? If there is a change in the FO I want someone from outside the organization.

What Qualifications did Yzerman have to get the job in Tampa?

No one even knows if he wants to be a GM

As for Regier, why would the guy want to stick around and go back to scouting? And what makes him such a great scout type people want to keep him around?

Four years in the Detroit front office is a pretty good qualification.

As the team vice president and alternate governor (also seen his title listed as Vice President of Operations for the Redwings)?

Wouldn't that be comparable to Ted Black? The Sabres do have a VP of Finance & Buisness Operations but no VP of Operations

Stevie Y was also GM for the 2007 Team Canada IIHF team and executive diretor for Team Canada's 2010 Olympic team.

Thats aleast a little bit better qualifications, but its different being the "GM" for an IIHF world Juniors and an Olympic team, where theres no salary cap or other team to compete with for players, you just have to assemble a team of the best guys in your country

If I had to choose I would rather have a guy who is better at evaluating talent and needs someone to help him with the cap side of things rather than the other way around.

Yep, that's a low pressure job right there.

High pressure because your expected to win everything

But how hard is it when you have an exclusive talent pool to pick from that includes Crosby, Iginla, Getzlaff, the Staal brothers, Shea weber, Pronger, Niedermeyer (the good one, not the one that came to Buffalo), Brodeur, etc. When picking these rosters you have no salary cap worries, and no worries of other teams picking these players before you can
