Buffalo Sabres first round pick Tyler Ennis scored a goal and an assist in Canada's 8-1 win over the Czech Republic in their opening game at the World Junior Hockey Championships.

Ennis netted Canada's fifth goal at the 13:33 mark of the second period as the rout was on by that point. He also tallied an assist on the ensuing Canadian goal as he set up Chris di Domenico to make the score 6-0.

The link indicates Tyler Myers did not play. At the risk of sounding terribly uninformed, I believe he did play. The game was on in my house, although I'll admit considerable distraction. I remember references to "Lindy Ruff and the Sabres looking forward to him filling out to 230 or so pounds".

Anyone?

I knew it was a bad decision to draft more than one Tyler in the first round. Damn video scouting!

I'm not confusing my Tylers. I know Ennis played. Quick feet, quick stick, nice goal ....

The link also mentions Myers and says he did not dress. My error, or the link's?

Myers hurt his knee in one of the tune ups and sat out the final tune up game but he did play last night.

And he played well, he is very quick for his size, he is not a slow ass...............He does need to add muscle to his body.

Ellis is playing in this tournament and is 17.............He is very offensively gifted...........I like these guys more then pretty much anyone else we got playing D for us right now, except Sekera he is playing solid.

His production continues:

With Canada's second unit out on the next power play it was Tyler Ennis's turn to get on the scoreboard, scoring his second goal in as many games to make it 8-0.

Myers got in on the action, too:

defenceman Tyler Myers finished things off with his first goal of the tournament.

Please don't tell me we have another soft blueliner in our future? <_<

Did the guy skate between his legs and gave him a headbutt to the groin?
