  1. *In most localities. I believe there are certain localities such as NYC that if a bike lane is available, a bicycle is required to use it by law (many don't). In Texas the law is basically as far to the right as practical, but a cyclist may take the full lane if required for safety reasons (lane not wide enough to pass).
  2. I see Johnson replacing Joki on the second pairing eventually.
  3. I get the opposite vibe. I think the bottom six players that were brought in were at Lindy's request and if anything Krebs will be just another bottom sixer fighting for a spot. If they thought he was good enough, they would not have brought in as many bodies as they did.
  4. Herbie Flowers, bassist extraordinaire, who created the iconic bass line for Walk on the Wild Side, has died, aged 86.
  5. Rest assured you'll never see me in a cyclocross video.
  6. Bringing on Giordano would be like bringing in Josh Gorges. The only thing he would bring to the team is we would know who our whipping boys at the outset of the season.
  7. Like Angel Hernandez calling balls and strikes bad.
  8. Happy Birthday to me! My wife got us tickets to see ELO in October. I had a chance to see them in the 1970s but didn't go; I've regretted that. So I finally get to see them.
  9. Can you think of a more apt representation of Sabres fandom than this?
  10. Using what leverage? Failure to sign a qualifying deal? Boo hoo.
  11. My sense is that the team gave Krebs the assignment of becoming a pesky, defense-first player who's tough to play against. You can see that he's tried to fulfill that role, but do you think any NHL opponent sees him as tough to play against? As physically tough? Bless his heart he tries but he's just not a bruiser. So from that standpoint I think he's failed at the assignment he was given. I think Kevyn Adams really wanted to see him succeed but at this point Kevyn recognizes Krebs is not, and will never be, a hard-nosed bottom six player, nor will he improve the top six. Maybe on a rebuilding team he could earn top-six minutes and his foray into defensive hockey will be an asset. But even though he's a pretty good defensive player, he just isn't a bottom-six tough guy and never will be. So give him a chance on a rebuilding team; maybe he can resurrect his stalled career.
  12. No. The team is mandated to make that offer. Once they do that, they own his rights even though he's unsigned. No one can put a gun to your head and make you sign a contract.
  13. Old Guys™ have that covered: If you don't feel you can ride your age, some guys ride 100 - their age, a more realistic goal as we get old and decrepit. Between Friday's ride and this morning's breakfast ride, I covered 96 miles over a 30 hour span. (A friend of mine did three times that in the same time frame.)
  14. After I posted that, I drank some chocolate milk, a coupla Gatorades and then I walked my dog 3 miles. By then I was ravenous so I went for a Tommy's burger.
  15. You mean SCARY GOOD, right? Right?
  16. Rode my age today. I'm 61 and rode 62.1 miles. Woof, I'm tired! So far today I've consumed: A cappuccino, a spinach & cheese croissant, and two beers. I'm bushed! Out to the edge of town: Breakfast at mile 18: Liquid lunch at mile 52: Downtown:
  17. How many fan actually read Pronman? I don't, unless he's mentioned here.
  18. Well, at this point, everyone talking definitions and points of law are being overly pedantic.

  20. The vehicle being passed moved to the left, so the SUV passed it on the right (where the riders were)? I ride quite a bit, and I hate riding on rural two lane roads. https://maps.app.goo.gl/AmFi5uPkijh61R8J8
  21. I haven't ridden my fixed gear bike in almost a year. The front wheel was borked and frankly I was afraid I might collapse it if I kept riding it. This week I rebuilt it with new spokes and the existing hub and rim. I went from radial lacing to a 3-cross pattern which gives it better resistance to brake torque. Took it out for a quick 12 mile shakedown ride tonight; the wheel did well. I had forgotten how much I like riding fixie.
  22. So the games in Europe will not be televised by a national network?
