I dunno, I've seen him cracking jokes and such, but he seems pretty taciturn most of the time.

I'm with you. I just popped in to say this is the day Cozens breaks out.

Rasmus does not project the persona of someone you'd want to have a beer with, like Tuch does. Tuch as an upstater "one of us" and is more familiar in his mannerisms and such. I think Dalihn simply isn't naturally charismatic and doesn't try. That says nothing about how he relates with his fellow players in the room. I'm kind of working through this for myself: When I think of a captain I think of a charismatic guy, a guy who exudes positive vibes and an upbeat nature. But those aren't qualities of a captain, they're qualities of a PR person. Often the two line up but I don't think it's necessary that they do. Maybe it's best that the captain is a reserved, nose-to-the-grindstone type of guy. The happy happy feel good coach is gone; we have a more intense, more serious coach and it makes sense to have a more serious captain. In short, being captain is not about the fans, it's about the team.

He needs to comb his hair. 😀 I comb my hair and I don't look as sharp as him.

The Sabres have always been a minus team.

GDT: Panthers @ Sabres 10/28/24, 7:00 PM EDT; MSG, ESPN+, WGRDoohickie replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club Since the season-opening 0-3, the team has played with desperation. You might think that, having beaten the Panthers once already, they might let up a bit, but with Barkov back they know they have to play desperate hockey to have a shot at winning. Barkov returning could actually work in the Sabres favor.

Which is a pretty good description of his mentor Andy Reid in his Iggles stint. Reid got a LOT better at the in-game stuff through the years. No reason McDermott can't improve in them as well. (And, he really should, if he doesn't already, have a "clock/situational" expert on his coaching staff to help him avoid stuff like the final Jest drive of the 1st half of that game in the Meadowlands (or whatever the heck they call their new mausoleum).) One thing that hasn't been brought up in this discussion is in-game adjustments. I would say McClappy is better than most at that. A disastrous opening drive or two doesn't mean the Bills are out of the game. By the second quarter he's often made adjustments to stabilize play and during halftime he frequently makes better adjustments than the opposing HC.

They thought an old has-been QB could lead them to the promised land but it takes a lot more than that to build a team. I could almost go so far as to say Rogers has held up his part of the bargain but he just doesn't have a team around him that is capable of winning.

They totally outclassed the Seahawks lines on both sides of the ball.
