When discussing why the Sabres wouldn't let Jack get ADR, one potential outcome I thought the Pegulas were worried about is what if the surgery is "successful" but Jack never hits the same level he reached in 2018-20 when he was a PPG player? I think that may come to pass, where he is nowhere near worth his contract going forward.

That is one thing about both Donny and Kevyn: Good or bad, you wouldn't know it. Always positive for the media. I don't mean that in a bad way, that they're in denial or they're hiding anything. I think they do their homework and have faith that it will work out, and their positive narrative helps shape the outcome. The exception that proves the rule, unfortunately, is Ullmark. But even in that case I think Kevyn did the right thing to walk away when he did instead of getting into a bidding war.

Yes, but it still points to the discord in the room that it was even an issue. The post tank build was extremely flawed. All our GMs and coaches were numb to the people/character aspect of building a team. The ZFG attitude of XGMTM was a direct cause of the toxicity in the room. I think anyone that is named captain with the current team will enjoy the full support of the room including other rivals for the C (thinking of Okposo versus Tuch).

There is a genre of music, in my mind anyway, that consists of songs I totally never heard when they came out, but became familiar with them from dive bars. They generally sound garage-band-ish in style, but "tighter" than that musically. They include bands such as The Raconteurs (Steady as She Goes, Level) Franz Fedinand (Take Me Out) Portugal the Man (I Feel It Still) Jet (Are You Gonna Be My Girl) Violent Femmes (Blister in the Sun) There are others but that's a representative sample to try to capture the sound. I will say that Jack White is a guitar riff master.

I would have disagreed with this, but seeing him with Power makes this a very good choice.

I could see where the Sabres might look past this Hughes-less squad, but they beat VGK on Monday largely on the merits of a 42-save performance by Andrew Hammond in goal. Kotalik is a good starting point. I think Olofsson is a far more complete player though. Pay particular attention to his play on the Sabres side of the red line tonight, and watch with an open mind.
