Have you ever been on camera with someone asking you questions? I have been once or twice. I have no problem with public speaking, leading meetings at work, whatever. But for some reason when someone "interviews" me, I just kinda shut down and don't say what's in my brain. Maybe Owen's the same as that. It would explain the TV questions. You're brain is racing a million places almost in a panic but the outer demeanor looks like you've shut down.

I will. You listed First Round Picks that were fifth overall. #5 overall in the draft. The 5th ROUND pick we got for Butcher will be somewhere between #129 and #160 overall.

I think it's part of the "culture" in the room that's being fostered by Granato. In the pregame before the Toronto game, Krebs said (beginning at 3:10), "There's no egos in the room. Doesn't matter if you're a first line, fourth line, scratched, everyone gets treated the same way." I think Granato's fostering respect among teammates and probably Butcher has been working hard in practice so he rotates in. I'm not really good with it either from a game standpoint, but if it's part of the bigger picture I can see worrying more about winning next year and building culture this year.

Actually, before things got too far down the trade road (and it must have been prior to being stripped of the C), Granato said he looked forward to having Jack play on the team. I think it's likely he was just being politically correct in the event that Jack did, in fact, remain with the team, but he did have some praise for Jack and his ability as a player.
