  1. I do too. Even though it doesn't have the full substance of playing 5-on-5, I think it's a more legitimately hockey-like way to end a game than a shootout. Make players play, make coaches coach. And it's really fun to watch. Get the six best guys out there and let 'em rip up and down the ice. You couldn't play that game with a two-line-pass rule.
  2. By the way, t-shirt of the night was on the telecast: I lulzed.
  3. Did you want "Swords of 1000 Men?" LET ME JEER YOUR VOTE
  4. Like to go fishing? LET ME GEAR MY BOAT Kabob time? LET ME SEAR MY GOAT Parade day? LET ME STEER MY FLOAT Trying to attack my castle? LET YOU FEAR MY MOAT Win the hockey game? LET ME BEER AND GLOAT
  5. I think we're in a position to be patient. We don't have contender expectations, and the players are still gelling and learning the systems. We can afford to give goalies in our system some early opportunities, and at the very least, examine what depth we have. Also: Ryan Vinz.
  6. I think a lot of the troubles in the first two periods was a result of the following: 1) Nine newcomers in the lineup meant that the team effecticely hadn't played together before (at real game speed, not preseason). 2) It was obvious from the individual puck carrier efforts and the lack of dumping the puck that Bylsma's system is going to be strongly dependent upon puck possession. This is a big departure from the chip/chase/grind game the player have had to play over the past two or more years. It'll take time not just to adjust, but be effective at this. 3) Any lack of compete/energy was a result of players dwelling psychologically on 1) and 2). Then being scored against on the first shift fuels the fire. When they're able to weather the storm, Jack scores his goal, the building erupts, and DJ Kool fires up, they turned into a hugely different team. That team was a playoff team.
  7. I celebrated when Jack scored, but when I heard HEREWEGONOW HEREWEGONOW I almost fell off the couch from laughing so hard. Outstanding. Looks like folks had fun. Noticed a few fans jumping, by the way.
  8. Now, if the goal celebration started at the horn fanfare at 0:16 there, with the entire crowd JUMPING, that would definitely be the .
  9. You can't sing LMCMT. YEEAAH UH UH UH UH UH UH HEREWEGONOWHEREWEGONOWHEREWEGONOWHEREWEGOHEREWEGO NOW LISTEN SOMEBODYMAKESOMENOISEINTHISJOINT MAN The irritation is real.
  10. I like the idea of Swords, particularly the idea of having a goal song that's somewhat personalized to the team (like the Buffalo Bills version of Shout). It's fun and identifiable. It helps the brand. But Let Me Clear My Throat is SO obnoxious that it's pretty much rubbing the goal celebration in the face of opponents while simultaneously making fun of the idea of goal songs. And if that isn't personalized to our team and what we want to be, then I don't know what is. We should be the team that has a goal song so obnoxious that it shits on everyone else's goal song. Let's own it. Wyshynski's not wrong:
  11. Cocaine is definitely "fashionable" right now and it has been for about two to three years. It might as well be snowing in Los Angeles.
  12. This I know. (Unless it's on NBC, NBCSN, NHLN, etc). I suppose I need to set up the boolean search to hit only 638 HD.
