Last year, it was Tuesday, April 15th, two days after the season conclusion on Sunday the 13th. If it's like last year, expect it to air live on TSN and NBCSN at 8pm EST and replay on NHLN at 8:30pm EST.

We sold 30 games of Matt Moulson and 27 games of Cody McCormick to MN for a 2014 2nd (Eric Cornel and Brycen Martin), Josh Gorges, one year of Mitchell, a 7th and Nevins. As for the Miller trade, Miller and Ott for Halak, Stewart, Carrier, a 2015 1st, and a 2016 3rd turns into: 25 games of Miller, 29 games of Ott (plus a non-guaranteed re-sign), a 2015 3rd rounder, and eating Klesla's salary --for-- A 2015 1st, a 2017 2nd, a 2016 3rd, a year of Neuvirth, a year of Stewart, Chad Johnson, and Carrier Good enough trades.

I admire Mitchell's work ethic. I think he deserved a larger return, maybe a 5th. But tank is as tank does.

Vogl says Jack Nevins is the prospect coming back in the Mitchell trade. Projects to a bottom-six guy, if that. He's got zero points and 88 penalty minutes in 32 games in Hamilton. Also looks like that pick is a 7th rounder. Yikes.

My intention isn't to pile on this, but only the three bolded trades were for rentals. In the other trades, the primary players all have terms left on their contracts. Sekera's a top-four Dman going to a cup contender that's short two top-four Dmen (Voynov, Martinez). Vermette was one of the most sought after forwards of the deadline, going to a cup contender crippled by the loss of Patrick Kane. Cup contender Preds acquired both Franson and Santorelli with their 1st, a prospect, and Olli Jokinen, whom the Leafs didn't want anyways. I don't think any of the assets Buffalo put on the marketplace met what those teams were looking for. Generally speaking, I think GMs have figured out the value of deadline deals, and the days of collecting a 1st rounder for a middle-of-the-road rental player are over.

He's gonna give TM such a snidely tone. I think Hoppe could approach Jim Kelly's level of work if given the opportunity, at least much moreso than these other three juggalo bloggers.
