  1. For a while now I've felt the Sabres are absolutely terrible about making timely shift changes in the 2nd period. Philly's second goal took advantage of a defensive pair mis-match with Montour being out there too long. Victor's last shift was way too long as well. Need shorter shifts!!!
  2. Kyle has been a turnover machine tonight....before the game I would have been happy with that...but for some reason I have been sucked into a trap of a good 1st period and now want to see our team win tonight.
  3. Brent Peterson if I'm not mistaken.....great face-off guy!!!
  4. I'll say this...with or without Eichel, they seem to be more willing to crash the net so far....let's see if it continues or disappears in the 2nd.
  5. Eric Staal making a nice power move to the front.....increase that trade value!!!
  6. Who says Cozen's isn't ready to play center!!!
  7. Kind of reminds me of RK putting Sobotka on a scoring line last year.....brilliant!
  8. Interesting...both are low in confidence....will be interesting to see if they can feed off each other's fears and put in a solid showing. That or expect a hot mess!
  9. Anybody but Toronto....can't stomach the thought of watching them have any success whatsoever.
  10. As our Sabrespace friend Darth might say "Sir, the possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field landing Brind'Amour is approximately 3,720 to 1.
  11. Maybe.....or maybe not. I don't trust the Sabres to do the right thing at the right time. I hope you're right, but I'm not holding my breath.
  12. Yep....Losing ROR was bad enough. Losing Jack with no top center in return is beyond illogical.
  13. Nice pass by Casey....Curtis needs to one-time that shot.
  14. Lately, he's had the best +/- of the entire D group. From a subjective standpoint, he has made fewer mistakes and is much better at puck movement and skating. He plays 'bigger' than his size would suggest. I've been pleasantly surprised by him and Borgen so far.
  15. Bryson continues to impress me with his puck handling and skating. His breakouts out of our zone are better than anybody else's
  16. I have to admit, it's pretty impressive how the Islanders suffocate their opposition. No room to move or skate. Really clog the passing lanes. I know it's Buffalo here, but I've seen them do it to other teams as well.
  17. It's about a strong team culture of caring for one another. Boston has this, Buffalo does not. Some players can show support by scoring, others by dropping their gloves. I would contend all the players appreciate each other's efforts....whatever they are. Overall a strong response from the whole team.
  18. After the Tinordi-Wilson fight, the Bruins scored 3 consecutive goals. Two were within 3 minutes of the fight, the third within 10 minutes. Boston owned Washington after the fight and went on to win 5-1. Seems to me it worked for them.
  19. I might be more open to trading Dahlin than you are, but perhaps a new coach can fix him. I would like to see the organization retain some of the younger prospects we are getting a glimpse of (ex. Borgen, Bryson) in addition to Cozens of course.
  20. I hope KA is smart enough (or not too desperate) to trade top 6 players for bottom 6 players. Granted some of our top 6 is debatable though....but not Sam!
  21. As if KA wasn't already facing a difficult challenge to fix this mess as a rookie GM, he also has the added complication of the expansion draft as well. If he trades players for players, who knows what we might lose to Seattle. If he trades for picks.....I'll check back in a few years.
  22. Fond memories of Bobby S. and Donnie E. as a great tandem. Didn't seem to matter which one played any given night...steady, consistent and reliable.
  23. I don't know....it feels like Groundhog's day to me honestly. This bad nightmare keeps repeating itself over and over and my alarm clock is broken.
  24. As somebody once said in the Soprano's...."Some people (the SABRES) are so far behind in the race that they actually believe that they're leading."
