  1. Well, maybe they hit fewer goal posts tonight?😝
  2. Has anybody ever heard GMKA say how LONG his "strategy" would take for Buffalo to become a playoff contender? I get that most of us here did not predict a playoff berth this season, but how many F'in seasons are we supposed to wait until we judge GMKA's plan as a success or failure?
  3. I'd like to see Cozens do that....IMHO, he is more of a power forward than center.
  4. Many years ago, Coach Ron Wilson referred to Buffalo as a "chicken $hit" team....very little has changed from whatever year he said that.
  5. Would have been nice if somebody went after Matthews for that hit on Mitts. First it might show a little character, second it would negate our PP! 🙂
  6. Toronto is a pretty soft team, yet they are out hitting Buffalo 14-9 so far. If there's any heart on this team, I don't see it. Maybe they need to play against somebody else who will completely abuse them...although even that may not inspire them.
  7. Rob is quoting Matt Ellis that they have to get the puck past the Leafs and down low. Not sure I can see our team being able to win those 1-on-1 battles to make that strategy work. We lack the personnel to win 1-on-1 battles.
  8. Once again zero quality scoring opportunities from 3 of 4 lines. PP is showing no strategy other than looking for a perfect pass for a 1-timer. No physical play anywhere on the ice. We are the absolute easiest team to play against in the entire league.
  9. Either Donny and coaching staff aren't teaching fundamentals or the team isn't listening....or both.
  10. Toronto opportunity started with yet another piss poor PP by Buffalo. Absolutely no effort to put a man in front of the Toronto netminder. If there's another PP opportunity, just decline it!
  11. Our D-men yet again fail to neutralize the man directly in front of the goal.....frustrating!
  12. They need to draft players who play with an edge vs. being timid on the ice. It gets frustrating how many times they get rid of the puck and turn away to avoid getting hit. They don't go to the hard areas of the zone. They need to draft young players who WANT to play a physical game.
  13. I don't think it's asking too much for a team that will finish checks, hit opposing D-men in the offensive zone (ex. causing them to look over their shoulder before going to the boards to retrieve a puck) and moving an opposing forward out of the way of your goalie to avoid a screen. The Sabres do none of this, which is part of the reason why other teams do not fear playing them. I don't need fighting, just a team that makes other teams respect their physical play (which is largely non-existent).
  14. IMHO - they keep drafting the same kind of players....based on pure talent, not necessarily heart or tenacity...or being "rugged" players who help bring some grit and snarl on the ice. We draft or trade for too many prima dona's and not enough who play with an edge. Our coaching history can't turn passive players into aggressive one, so they fail too.
  15. With every loss, GMKA has less leverage to do anything to improve the team. So I guess we're stuck with this a while (again).
  16. Zamboni drivers must look forward to Sabres games. They never have to bother resurfacing the ice between the face-off dots because Sabres players never go there on offense. Just a couple laps around the boards should do it and they're good to play another period.
  17. What the hell is Joki doing out there? No awareness of the Ottawa player behind him with a point blank opportunity.
  18. Imagine what Mike Robataille might be saying if he was doing hockey hotline.
  19. I love Cozen's heart, but IMHO he needs to be developed as a power forward vs. a center.
  20. Pretty easy to do when you have nothing but a perimeter game.
  21. Will any Sabre lay claim to the slot or crease? They act like they're playing basketball not wanting to commit a 3 second violation.
