  1. Hoping this is indeed the case....a "sturdier" Rasmus is a good thing IMHO. We had another sturdy Rasmus, but that's another story!
  2. $8 or $4...now we can't even buy a beer or soft drink today for that amount 🙂 Love the astro-turf!!!
  3. Yes....and sadly, no RJ to say "Halfway through the period".
  4. Brings back memories of the ol' Orange section on top. Pretty steep angle, but a great view!
  5. Could he be a V. Varada type player with maybe more offensive upside?
  6. I like the signing. Given his success last year, teams may focus their defensive efforts on TT to try and neutralize him in 2022/2023. Hoping the rest of the lines find more of a scoring touch to mitigate this.
  7. No, but hopefully show well enough to convince Levi, Portillo and Johnson to want to sign and be part of an organization that will make the playoffs in 2023-24.
  8. I along with many (not all) fans do not expect this team to make the playoffs, so let's the kids play and develop with the understanding they WILL make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. IMHO there are enough center possibilities on the roster that we have to play them there to see what they can become, ala Tage last year. I know this is a center thread, but I would rather see the team obtain another skilled/fast big power forward who can help our young centers develop faster.
  9. With respect to Rosen, maybe it's not a bad thing that he's not standing out. We had another 1st round pick Swede forward named Nylander who was pretty good in the WJC's and then struggled as a pro. Maybe Rosen will be the ANTI-Nylander 🙃 https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/hockey/news/sabres-alexander-nylander-outstanding-at-world-juniors/
  10. Sticking to the plan seems to be the priority. Part of the plan includes having players who truly want to be here. IMHO - some of the FA's who fans desire may simply not buy into the Sabres' plan and so they signed elsewhere or maybe still looking.
  11. So here is the list of players taken between 16 and 28. 11 teams passed on Kulich, including Minnesota twice. A couple of centers taken in the 11 plus some D. As stated above, time will tell.
  12. I might be in the minority, but I sort thought Buffalo should have brought him right back after his first season. Thought he was quietly effective and defensively responsible...given the rest of the bottom six we had at the time.
  13. At what cost though?
  14. Loved how Varada played, but as you imply, he lacked some skills! We used to refer to him ala Roberto Duran as our Sabres' version of Mr. "Hands of Stone"!
  15. I have a feeling there will be a 4th name added to the list. Not a #1 or #2, but a somebody else who will be called up to play some games due to injury...maybe Subban? I have yet to be convinced of Anderson and UPL's durability....even collectively as the #2 behind Comrie.
  16. Hopefully Skinner can be durable, have good line mates and coaching to keep his production numbers up.
  17. New article from the Hockey News.....pretty positive assessment. https://thehockeynews.com/news/prospect-pool-overview-buffalo-sabres
  18. I could envision a scenario where if Buffalo is already out of contention...Okposo is traded to a contender for a playoff run, but then re-signs with Buffalo in the off-season.
  19. What are you talking about on defense? Your written in stone names are only 4. We need 7 or 8 factoring injuries, etc. If we acquire another D, why do Bryson and Joki have to be dumped? I prefer not to see Fitz playing a lot of NHL minutes personally.
  20. Injuries??? I'm not crazy about Fitz coming in if just one of our regular guys miss games.
  21. Mitts if he stays healthy. Second guess is Cozens based on his own determination to make a bigger impact.
  22. LIked Levi's interview a lot. Regardless of how well-spoken Johnson and Portillo are, both are smart enough to not say anything negative at this time regardless of their true intentions (especially if they prefer free agency). Reporters tried to get something, but neither are putting their cards on the table until they're ready to.
  23. I like Krebs, but I am not convinced yet that I see top 6 abilities yet. Hopefully that is coming, but am a bit skeptical so far. That said, I like the kid and he brings an enthusiasm to our new core that is IMHO extremely important right now. Whether he is or is not a top 6 level player, his presence may still pay dividends in terms of helping our newbies or potential newbies build the new culture more quickly. Go to the 40 second mark:
  24. No interest at all in the NBA. Only play 48 minutes and 10x too many time-outs among my pet peeves. Can those who care about the NBA start a new thread and keep this one on topic please?
  25. The future certainly looks bright and in a couple years we may finally have a depth of team scoring that will take us back to the President Cup team or even back to the 80's. The one thing I would like to see our pool improve upon is on defense. I'd like to see more top 4 potential defender prospects, especially right handers. With the 2nd round picks next year, maybe that will happen.
