  1. To whom? Bylsma? GM TM? The Pegulas?
  2. I feel like Eichel has been subtweeting the middle finger to Dreary Dan for months now.
  3. Good frickin' read - thanks, chz. It also resonates with me more than what Davis wrote. His insistence that Bylsma is a good coach but a poor fit here seemed ... strange to me.
  4. Pretty amazing. And I don't know whether what Cleveland is doing will work in the NFL -- but it sure is an interesting experiment.
  5. the timing was such that that was really the only explanation that made sense.
  6. i was just talkin' head shots. the foreheads are where i see the resemblance. Hmmm. Maybe it's just that they both look Swedish.
  7. I'm not sure what Kukla's Korner is, or who Dave Davis is, but I enjoy his material and Tweets. Here's his recent take on Bylsma. http://kuklaskorner.com/tso/comments/bylsmas-future-in-buffalo-is-bleak An excerpt: "Meanwhile, the once radical theory that Sabres players are consciously or subconsciously diverting a bit from the coaching staff's game plans -- out of confusion, inability, rebellion or indifference -- is actually starting to gain some legs. There just isn't another reasonable answer available to the question of how so many defensive zone lapses can occur so often in so many games. Last night's parting of the Red Sea for Claude Giroux is Exhibit A. In a nutshell, the inmates are running the asylum. Bylsma seems unable or unwilling to force his imprint on this group. He does not appear to have control of his team. And it doesn't fare well at all for his future in Buffalo. . . . ometimes there are just bad fits. For whatever reason, it seems as though Bylsma is not a good match with this roster. We've seen good coaches do extremely well in one town and stink it up in another. It's chemistry."
  8. Moreover, does he not resemble Enroth?
  9. also against the patriots? (i was there for the comeback, so i'm all set on craziest i've ever seen/heard it.)
  10. Good stuff. On these two specifically: I feel like next year is the season that the story on Watkins becomes "finally healthy" and how he's charting toward the level of AJ Green/Julio Jones. As for Woods, I think everyone knew he was going elsewhere. The fact that the Rams now have something like $8M tied up in Tavon Austin (sp) and Woods is something I do not envy.
  11. I'm sure that's the film that Belichick was relying on when he signed the guy with #1 corner money.
  12. Does Cal Petersen look like The Paddle of Ethron a little bit?
  13. I LOL'd at a retweet yesterday about how someone was looking forward to Tyrod and his legion of fullbacks taking on 12 superior quarterbacks and whoever the Jets start at QB. Ouch.
  14. I feel like, if the greatest coach/talent evaluator/tactician in the game's history is willing to pay you legit #1 corner money, then you're pretty frickin' good.
  15. He seems pretty adaptable to making buds on whatever team he's on. Remember when McGinn was his bff? That's a factor that maybe has some downside to his fondness for Buffalo. What if they were to break up? Seems likely, if not inevitable.
  16. Copy that. I'm braced for the worst with Gilmore. Can't help it.
  17. Interesting observation. That has happened with my guy as well, although it's come and gone in spurts. He loves to play, but is not quite the gym/rink rat/junkyard dog that some of his teammates are -- CJ sounds like maybe he is (a true rink rat). You see this in some adults, even. I know a guy through a common friend who's always into something athletic - playing in rec soccer leagues, flag football leagues, hoops at the Y, etc. So I had some extra tickets to a Sabres game a while back, and said to my friend, "hey, invite Mr. Super Sports Guy." The response came back: "Thanks, but no thanks - he likes to play, not watch."
  18. Did you not hold that opinion of him when he was here? Anyway, there was a vocal element of the fan base that enjoyed knocking down Gilmore, calling him over-rated, and such. He always struck me as a strong, stout corner - almost certainly top-15 in the league, and maybe better. Now that Belichick has targeted him, I immediately infer that he's way better than his detractors thought.
  19. The fact that Belichick wanted him is significant.
