Don’t have time to respond fully, but, in general, I disagree. I’m an anonymous message board poster who had inferred over time that Wawrow’s principal source was Brandon, and that Wawrow sorta exchanged access for relating Brandon’s perspective/spin. And then Wawrow drunk dial flames me. Seriously. Screw him.

You really need to all cap that shiznit, John. AP SPORTS WRITER. Maybe even tweak it thusly: AP SPORTS WRITER, MOTHERFU#KERS!! Now I sorta wish you’d hang around. Your shtick is moving from sad through to amusing.

I know! All this speculation and theorizing based on limited information and rational inference. INFURIATING! Seriously, John. I’m trying to listen to my better angels. Been off the grid a bit - just seeing this. The sadness deepens. It’s an internet message board, jw, anonymity is a featured option. And if you participated here, you’d know I (along with many others) am a. nuanced thinker —- and, yes, speculator. Fair enough. I was just talking economics. Casy’s poised to earn 10s of millions of dollars in the next 10-15 years. My guess is that he focuses everything on that effort.

From an administrative standpoint, he'll probably take incompletes on some or all of his spring semester's classes, or get extensions for some of the work. He may finish his first year of study over the summer. Also: What Eleven said.

Agreed that Wawrow is a good reporter. And you may recall that I strongly disagree on Harrington having any redeeming qualities as a writer, reporter, columnist. I don't find either of them to be a fun follow on Twitter -- quite the contrary, I developed a strong antipathy for both on that platform. I don't read Harrington at all, out of principle. With Wawrow, I don't imagine that I'll be able to avoid reading him because he will have content that I really want to see. Not so with Harrington. And those guys should very much care if people stop following or reading them. Graham is a gifted researcher and writer. I don't read any of his stuff anymore because I found him to be so repugnant on social media -- especially with the Matthew Coller stuff. That experience, together with the stories I'd heard about why he left ESPN, were more than enough for me to resolve never to consume his content.

I suspect he found the thread by Googling/searching for his (last) name. I’d thought for a while that he was a solid guy, but have come to conclude that he’s a self-serious, self-important capital J sports journo out of print media central casting. You just have to swap out Springsteen for The Replacements. I wrote him off completely when he joined Harrington in dragging that blogger guy for his Lehner report.

A couple of things: 1. In the chatter about what Mittlestadt would do, I saw several mentions of how the Minnesota coach was retiring in the face of diminishing interest in and attendance of Gopher hockey games. WTF? 2. I was driven to absolute distraction over how much I disliked the PBP call on the first several goals in this clip: I know there are some codgers here (me included) who gripe that Dunleavy often doesn't *say* "SCORES!" when a goal is scored. But, man alive -- the guy on those initial goals in this clip. Is this a generational thing? Are PBP callers of the future no longer going to say "SCORE!" or a word like that when a goal is scored?

I'll admit that the whole burning a year of the ELC, but it's not counted as a pro year, expansion draft stuff is just ... confusing to me.
