  1. So help me God. Better get it right, HC PH.
  2. Meant to chime in with a “let’s not bicker and argue about who killed who ... this is supposed to be a happy occasion!”
  3. Not an unfair point. Maybe he drives goalward hoping to influence the puck in.
  4. It looked worse in slow mo. In real time, it seemed like a normal, hard play.
  5. /chest tap My bad.
  6. PTL. Feel better, Linus.
  7. Feckin' well right. And why on earth not? Is it still a thing that fans smirk and disapprove of players for being largely motivated by money and their own financial self interest when it comes to negotiating a contract? FWIW: I'm so over that.
  8. Sorry. I just saw the super majority being paid as bonus and recalled, generally, how this was something that flush franchises would do in order to further entice players. Pegula has done it several times, IIRC. The idea being: Salary can be clawed back by a newly negotiated CBA. In the past, the same could not happen with regard to bonus money.
  9. Lockout and roll-back proof.
  10. GOOD LORD. Thank God.
  11. Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie Situation today is no different than what we reported on @LeafsLunch1050 yesterday — Auston Matthews’ contract extension with TOR appears imminent. Today, tomorrow, whatever, it’s getting done. Projection is 5 years with an AAV of $5.5M, give or take 100K or 200K.
  12. Oy vey. I'm quietly just hoping the team can finish as a respectable bubble team, which is where I figured they'd finish when the season started. And, btw, they have WORK to do in order to accomplish just that. #90pointsorbust #89wouldworktoo #88mehokay
  13. C'mon, team! I saw the factoid about how, following the 10-game magical win streak (and I mean magical) this team is playing the 3rd worst in the league hockey. C'MON. Let's go, Buffalo.
  14. This has been kicking around on social media for a while, I guess. A middle-aged mom painted an egret, and was worried that no one would like it. Apparently, her son is an artist (?) so he painted her holding her painting of an egret. And then a whole bunch of other artists got involved -- with amazing results. https://nubleh.github.io/i_painted/old.html?fbclid=IwAR0FS1C0Jmb-BMyuzuPFE3Rt9zDS8GYj4VbgNnNmDxx04NghwmHDPCEEJMs
  15. I can always generate some visceral hate for the Stars. Let’s go, Buffalo!
  16. Exactly. I can see wanting to give Hunwick some run. But not at Pilut's expense. No - indeed it does not.
  17. Agreed on all counts. E-Rod looks to be a valuable NHL player. But if he is in your top-6, then your team is not a playoff team. Enjoy! What in the actual ....
  18. What a weirdly long break. Let's go, Buffalo!
  19. So much power. So much privilege.
  20. Long day at the office for me today. I couldn’t tell what’s literal and what’s metaphorical in this post. And we good, fam.
  21. The arc that explains why why this thread, and its direction, has amused (and maybe bemused) me is a difficult one to reconstruct. I know it will over-simplify matters, but I'll try it this way: A story of a middle-aged white male executive acting like a horny sh*t heel and abusing his station and power in so doing prompted me to #SMH and reflect on how far too many middle-aged white male executives (still!) engage in this sort of behaviour and that I really wished it would stop post haste.** The ensuing defence campaign for the cohort at issue is, in the end, nothing short of confusing to me. I mean, are there other human beings who are not middle-aged white male executives who also do things that are bad? Fookin' right there are. I just don't see what that's got to do with the issue at hand, as I perceive it. ** And in so reflecting, I counted myself among the people who need to be part of building business cultures that are better. Shoot - in the time that's elapsed since this conversation started I came to realize that I had likely steamrolled and mansplained a junior female colleague during a planning session.
  22. Just popped back in to see whether middle-aged white male executives were still getting a stirring defence. I was not disappointed.
  23. I only got to see a bit of the game. The Sabres were positively dominant out of the gate. I saw the SOG this morning. Shame that the team didn’t get a better result - looks like they deserved it.
