  1. Nah. You were right. When you read his other content, he was somewhat guessing at which teams would be doing it, but was more sure that there would be offer sheet activity. Edit: I did tweak my quote.
  2. Do you have a significant, long-running track record of breaking news about trades and signings in pro sports?
  3. I will be surprised as well. But it's gonna happen at some point.
  4. i think that incarcerated bob is legit. i'm not saying he's right all the time. and i'm not saying he doesn't do some reading of tea leaves. but the guy's done enough to prove himself as someone with some inside info.
  5. my bad. the name must have led me to infer he plays D.
  6. The report has been removed from the trade tracker.
  7. Or a 6-9 guy ... AMIRITE?! https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/hockey/porn-star-calls-rangers-defenseman-michael-del-zotto-twitter-article-1.1996789
  8. What would he be? A 6/7 guy?
  9. Well, I'm a big fan of any d-man with a French first name. I trust it's because of the tantalizing upside (and cool ass name) of, who was it, Jean Luc Grandpierre (?!).
  10. And then, together, they may find a few chestnuts.
  11. Yes. Among other items from the blog cited upthread: When he played away from Howden, his xGA/60 at 5 on 5 went from a 3.03 to a 2.48 and his xGF% per 60 increased from 41.61% to a 51.26% according to Natural Stat Trick.
  12. Get out of here with that nonsense. It's an underwhelming addition, by any measure. I was simply pointing out that there's analysis to suggest that he can be adequate defensively if paired with a more responsible line mate. Damning with faint praise, if anything.
  13. the write-up at diebytheblade provided some context on his linemates, and how his performance improved away from certain players (who are dumpster fires defensively).
  14. Disagree. I'd call it defensible, at worst.
  15. the diebytheblade write-up is solid, balanced. concludes with this: A trade that included a late round pick or a player like Marco Scandella would make some sense. He would fill the need to improve the bottom six on the forward lineup. Vesey only has one year left on his deal that carries a $2.275 million cap hit. After next season he’ll become an unrestricted free agent. The Sabres may get a motivated player in a contract year.
  16. reportedly. maybe JBOT felt the need to bring in another pal of Eichel's, since he's shipping off E-Rod as part of some other deal.
  17. right. and he's not going to be on the 4th line - at least he should not be given how "fun" his style of play apparently is - so he's middle 6. hopefully getting cushy minutes on a 3rd line, scoring 15+ per year and not giving up too much in his own end. so, a more offensively minded dixon ward?
  18. so in that charting universe, vesey would be in the "fun" quadrant.
  19. I know it's been discussed, but can someone remind me what the book is on Vesey? Average middle 6 forward?
  20. There's nothing new there, that's for sure. At this point, I feel like I have a pretty clear idea of who and what the Pegulas are, as individuals and as a collective. As for Terry, I just keep coming back to the saying that blind squirrels find chestnuts, too.
