That Aud Smell

i'm not endorsing posts that call for the "salted ground" and such. i was simply responding to a defence of the institution that said there are "those" (some?) who stand against what Sandusky did (obvi) and, moreover, what Paterno et al. did not do. as in: there are apparently "those" there who do not stand against some or all of that? how. i was being a bit rhetorical and flourishy with the "very fine people" comparison. i was borrowing another odd dichotomous paradigm in order to make a point. and, again, my point remains, as indicated above in response to @shrader. your statement necessarily implied that some at/of PSU stand against all that awfulness, and ... some don't. which struck (strikes) me as enormously strange. if i were a PSU alum/backer, it would disturb me to no end that there is some identifiable portion of the community that didn't stand against all of that.

I'll have to go back and look. That sounds like he got beat. The plays I have in mind are the ones where you're just left wondering "WHAT are you DOING, man?!"

He seems to be playing more within himself than in the past. I don't notice nearly as many (and sometimes no) low hockey IQ gaffes. The proverbial "he was trying to do too much" may apply.

Weird take, imo. We're all keenly aware that he has a terrible contract. But it seems like a clear and obvious cause for celebration if he returns to being a useful NHL player. I had presumed he'd be dead weight. Instead, he looks like he will be a positive contributor. That's big for this team, as constructed.

He really jumped out at me last night. God love him. He may have found his legs and confidence. A return to NHL form on his part would do wonders for this team. Rodrigues looked awful. And I really don't understand what Vesey is doing out there; constantly on the wrong side of the play. I can't really post in-game because I'm streaming the games on my phone. Fair. Some of this might be semantics. I'm not talking about a normal Ohio State fan who was, like, "aw, man - it sucks that Bosa won't play!" The people I have in mind are way more than just disappointed -- they're, like, sanctimoniously enraged; they're on Twitter getting MAD ONLINE; they're acting like stakeholders in THE Ohio State University who have been RIPPED OFF by a GLORY BOY athlete who does not understand the GIFT that it is to play for THE Ohio State University. Fans who are “frustrated” over a scenario like Bosa’s — an elite top level talent sitting out to preserve his health and earning power — have chronic cranial rectosis. D-1 football is a business. Pure and simple. There are a number of fictions and stories implemented in and around it, but those fictions and stories are just that. They are there to keep the wealth consolidated (it’s what money most loves, after all; to be near other money). I do not for a nanosecond begrudge a guy like Bosa making a decision to preserve and advance what’s best for him. That billion dollar football brand doesn’t actually give a good goddamn about him. No reason he should feel differently toward said brand.

The idea that Bosa should have played a highly dangerous sport in order to show that he cares about a brand and profit center valued in the billions -- an entity that gave him precisely nothing in terms of legitimate compensation -- and thereby risk his own ability to earn tens of millions of dollars is ... laughable.

When you believe in things, you don't understand ... you suffer! Go, Sabres!

I went to the game in January 2019 when the Sabres curb stomped the Devils 5-1. I’m wondering if the Sabres just have that team’s number, a little.

At some point I thought to look for him (or, tbh, a top pick whose name I could not recall). Never noticed him.
