  1. Do NOT give me a YO MAMA option and not expect me to hammer it. I said second tier star, 30+ goals for Peterka. Excellent player. As for the holy trinity of youts, I would have voted for Benson but for the YO MAMA option.
  2. Also, it's happened. I'm lowkey in love with the team. GOD DAMMIT. (Please be good.)
  3. NAK = Kubey Reimer = Reims or Optimus Rousek = Rousino (THAT'S a personal favourite. Reminds me of Enzo a bit.) He and Quinn are ... dare I say ... adorbs. Levi = Leevs, Beast, Dwayne
  4. Clague = Claguer Lafferty = Laf McLeod = Clouder
  5. Krebs = Krebsy. Bryson = Brys (Brice) Tuch = Tuchy Clifton = Cliffy Dahlin = Ras Somebody goes by "Gibby." I clearly need to catch up on who's rostered. (Okay - Dennis Gilbert.)
  6. Samuelsson = Sammy UPL = Upie ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Greenway ... isn't sure. That was a funny bit. The producer calls to him "Greener? ..." Then he professes not to know. Then someone reminds him: Dude she just called you Greener. After some reflection, he also offers "Big Rig."
  7. Have a watch and listen. Per the players themselves. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DAoOCSGMM_i/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== As I've stated previously: I don't want any of YOUZE GUYS** using these nicknames. That's dumb. (Lol, jk - please do deploy their nicknames as often as you like -- if for no other reason than to trigger, irk, anger me (and others?).) ** And GALS, if any (and NON-BINARIES, if any). ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thompson = Tommer Quinn = Twos, Quinner, Quinny Joki = Joki Byram = Bo Malenstyn = Mal (or so says Byram)
  8. Earlier days, it could have been Dicky.
  9. No idea who Lohrei is, but if dude's a Bruin and can't outpace Power's metrics, then what is the argument even about? Also, the block function can be your friend. I went over 15 years without using it much, but, of late, have used it more freely. It's made my experience on this board much more pleasant. Like Utah Phillips once said: "I went on a low social cholesterol diet ... no more fat heads."
  10. Apparently, Miller hedged against this very thing and saved himself ~$3.5MM when he renegotiated his deal with the Bills this past offseason. So, those 4 games may cost him in achieving some bonuses at certain levels -- but he's taken the sting out of that by restructuring his deal so that it has so little base salary.
  11. Yep. I spent a decent buck on a well-regarded VPN last season and then tried to pair it with ESPN+. That was a big "nope."
  12. Well that changes things quite a bit. I’m back to thinking Terry’s a tight wad for not sending the team’s broadcasters.
  13. I mean, Terry is still a cheap bastage. It's just that the agenda of this European trip may not be evidence of that. And @Thorner you should remove your disagree reaction in deference to the super def gif I found.
  14. I voted "yes." Fuggit. I'm back on the vibes.
  15. Which is to say, I think I'm granting myself an "L" on the Terry's cheap rant.
  16. A thought occurs to me, belatedly. I b1tched upthread about how Terry was cheap because he wasn't sending his broadcasters to Europe. There was other chatter herein about why the Sabres were going to Europe for such a long period of time. And, yeah. That started to sink in for me: Christ they've been there a while, haven't they? And they don't even play until the weekend? The trip must be costing the team a mint.
  17. I can't tell whether I find this comforting or dispiriting.
  18. Yeah - I'm taking that as a blend - not as a binary choice. I think what drove that deal was the franchise's desire for a player like McLeod. From there, I think the Sabres were still reasonably high on Savoie. But, as others have noted, there are other Sabre prospects that made Savoie a piece that could be moved for a valuable NHL player.
  19. The Oilers are presumably still a Cup contender. The fact that Savoie couldn't crack that lineup is, therefore, maybe not all that damning. OTOH, I feel better still about the trade given that he's not slated to skate with the big club to start the season. Also, I'm now aware of Östlund. As I saw someone remark here: Östlund was likely a significant part of the team's thinking when parting with Savoie.
  20. Yeah - I guess it's the physics of the matter - and I see why that rule exists as it does. If you've got both hands on your stick and you're holding it at waist level - you will generate more force (and/or withstand more force coming the opposite way) regardless of whether you conspicuously drive the stick into your opponent. In all events, the firmly-held stick played a role in the outcome of that open ice hit. Which was a beauty.
  21. I regret coming off as condescending. Your perspectives here are genuinely perplexing to me.
