  1. I love the Costello song - have not heard it in a long, long time. LFG, Sabres!!
  2. I go with places like Pew Research, and my own sense things.
  3. Agreed. It's nice when the stats line up with what you're seeing, or what you think you're seeing, anyway. It does surprise me a bit that the quality of shots surrendered is so low -- they just seem scrambly or sloppy at times (maybe just inopportune times).
  4. I'm putting X more toward 1980, is all. I don't place millennials in the 70s, either.
  5. Couldn’t find the RaKru system thread, so I’ll plunk this here:
  6. I think Xers are a bit broader than that.
  7. Trigger is all Gen Z, bruv.
  8. ^ Oy. That's an odd one. The thing about "personal reasons" is that it gets used in all kids of situations, so it's hard to read what happened here.
  9. I'm not saying that's strange. Quite the contrary. I infer that he can't get coaching work, like, anywhere. And that he's gone looking for it. That seems weird.
  10. yeah, i reckon that's right. he won the jack adams, so ... that is something, obviously. i think that success was partly a function of lightning in a bottle, partly a function of a different era of hockey. but he seems solid in the leadership and mentoring categories. the fact that he goes wanting for a gig is very strange.
  11. I always liked Ted. I'm not sure he's cut out to be an NHL coach, but I liked him. It definitely fails the smell test that he's not coaching somewhere (i.e., in the AHL, ECHL, Major Juniors).
  12. I like what I see when I watch them, mostly. The defence still seems a bit scrambly at times. But I like them through the neutral zone and in the other team's zone. If they can get just a bit more good fortune, they will put together a 5-game winning streak.
  13. TSN's doing a feature of Ted Nolan. Check out this excerpt re his second stint in Buffalo. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKjZf_OgXuD/?igshid=if87d5873102
  14. @deluca67.500 is in sight. Get it!
  15. The CBS crew did a good job of elucidating the fact that the Bills receivers just weren’t getting open. 😔
  16. Gotta get on the front foot here.
  17. This team is fairly snakebitten right now.
  18. Gimpy? What - a broken fibula?! Psshhh. Also, it seemed clear to me that Brown just was not right. I was with you until you said "guard." Then again, this is such a low 1st rounder (weird!) that a stud guard could be good value. I'm all in on getting a playmaker who slots somewhere in the front 7 on D (or ... the front 6, as the case may be).
  19. I found the SI article about the game, but the photo does not appear there.
  20. Agreed on all of that. I don't really even remember the details anymore. One thing I don't often say: In real-time, on a very non-HD broadcast, it looked like a very tough catch. Ha. On second thought:
  21. C'mon, boys - big W tonight. I agree that the top line is due for some 5v5 goals.
  22. Ha - well, at least Singletary didn’t drop it in the end zone, then throw his QB under the bus, and then appear on cover of SI with more than half the ball cradled in his hands.
  23. More than fair.
  24. @inkman put me hip to this. i don't think edmunds is particularly well thought of. the comparison to risto seems very apt. he cuts an imposing figure and seems like he should be a stud ... but the mental side of the game isn't there and performance suffers as a result.
