Nate Geary's on Twitter causing an absolute hysteria over his teased implication that he heard that Allen is done for the year with some sort of ruptured tendon in his throwing arm's elbow.

the goat cam that the team had - with 3 goats wandering around the visitors' locker room (pooping there?!) - was hilarious.

I'm here to offer a modest hat tip to those who were saying "um, teams seem to be game planning for the Bills by running the sh1t out of the ball." I still think this Bills D is capable of shutting down a dedicated run game. They did not do that yesterday. I think that was more about failures that occurred on the field (I stopped counting tackles that were missed at or behind the line of scrimmage) and not having the on-field personnel they need if they're going to challenge for the AFC title. The larger problem, I think: The Bills D is designed to defend the pass and surrender a bit on the run. And the Bills O, correspondingly, is supposed to score at least 21 and, on balance, closer to 30 per game. They did not do that yesterday. So, failures all around. I didn't think they'd go 16-1, so the loss is perhaps not a huge deal. It is significant that they're 0-2 in the division, though.

I've said it before regarding the reverse retros: I don't think there are any regular posters here who are being targeted with that alternate uni. In seeing the uniforms, my wife remarked: "The Sabres look like they're wearing PJ's!" (Which was sorta appropriate given that the moms were in attendance.) A few minutes later, my 15 year-old walked through the room and remarked: "Yo - those uniforms are clean."

If he's healthy (if) and if the terms don't hurt the team beyond this year, then getting ODB at OBD is a no-brainer. Setting aside what his production might be -- just having him on the field would further open things up for Diggs, Davis, Knox, and so on.

4.43 is what i read for shakir. certainly not slow, but not a burner either by nfl skill position standards. yet again otoh, it's not as though being a pure burner is crucial to being an excellent kick returner -- much better to have someone who, before they're a burner, is sure handed, has great vision, and is fearless. being adequately fast, along with those other 3 elements, is more than fine.

His personality is off the charts, man. I'm not sure how else to say it.

Marlowe?! MARLOWE! I like that trade a lot. Hopefully he's got some gas left in the tank and wear left on his tread.

This is, of course, the correct take. I was mostly clowning around upthread. OTOH, there's no disputing that STL hit an out of the park home run with that trade. That ball is still in flight. The Sabres and Thompson are a great story all on their own - one that is still being written. I have no need to go back and revisit the trade.

Nyheim Hines. Huh. The Bills have been after a veteran pass catching back for a while (which search seemed to end with the selection of James Cook). Pat McAfee *loves* it for the Bills.

With the Poyer situation looming, safety would be an area to address. Other than that, o-line for sure.

The hints were very necessary to get the last 2. The Jim Lorentz one is a real outlier. There's gotta be footage of him out there talking about it. I would have been hard-pressed to remember that the 5th player to notch 6 points in a game even played for the Sabres (or was a big deal in the NHL - I was a kid at the time and didn't follow NHL stuff super closely).
