  1. Excellent insight - I agree đź’Ż
  2. “Who are three people who’ve never been in my kitchen.”
  3. That’s another view of it, sure. In my experience, people who need recovery can avoid the process (which never ends) by medicating in all kinds of ways. Being stupid with money is one such way. Likening him to Kane misses the mark. Very different cats.
  4. That’s extreme. But I get it. He may be sober (?), but it looks like his demons are still calling the shots.
  5. Dude is STICKING it to Baltimore. And I don't blame him one bit. Get yer share of the money, pal. The owners will just make more. Lamar not playing tees up the Bengals for a comparable first round "bye" opponent.
  6. The Bills being the biggest Wildcard Weekend favourite ever should be a source of some comfort. It is not, for me. The Twittersphere is talking about how the Bills are essentially getting a "bye" in this Wildcard matchup. And this following an enormously emotional game against New England to close the season. It feels like a spot where the favoured team could falter. I pray not.
  7. Let's Go, Buffalo! Beat the 'Peg.
  8. Let's Go Buffalo! I'm hoping the kids will be alright* tonight. *My inner grammarian always wants to spell this all right.
  9. Bummer. I agree with what @Taro T said immediately above. Young teams are especially susceptible to emotional crashes. I sent my grown kids who are home for the holidays to this game. I anguished over the game’s arc - thinking of them there, morose. Turns out, they had a roaring good time goading the oldest into chugging a beer, making up back stories for the people in their section, and snap facing their friends who were also at the game. I could stand to learn a thing or two from them.
  10. presumably, y'all have clear skies because you are just far enough away from these big ol' ponds we call the great lakes. they're incredible. they are also cloud makers.
  11. As a STH, I don't care too much about who are non-divisional opponents are. And getting 2 NFC East royalties at the stadium, along with a fast rising team like the Jags, is fine. I do wonder, though: Why does KC never come to Buffalo? Won't next season be, like, the 4th (5th?!) straight season (?) that the Bills go to KC in the regular season? I remember this being a point of conversation when the Bills played at KC this season. Wtf.
  12. true true. cloudy af though.
  13. I saw that the shots were fairly even in last night's Flyers-Leafs game - around 36 for each team. And prior to that, the Flyers had won four straight? Any sense of what the Flyers are right now and what they're apt to be tonight? Go, Sabres!!
  14. he had some juice. a little corny. ... wait. juice? corn?
  15. I wish John Murphy a full and speedy recovery. I wish him every happiness in life. I will not miss him calling Bills games when he's done doing so.
  16. The Bruins are up there for me as well. But the Flyers are probably my #1 most hated team as well. Let's Go Buffalo!!
  17. I just love this team. Growth is needed (i.e., the baby wingers). There are flaws (goaltending is still iffy at times). But they are so fun. And they play with such heart and fearlessness.
  18. Just incredible. Incredible!! I'll hop in to agree with this entirely. I'm an observantly faithful person (Catholic). I pray a fair amount. I actually meditate more, which, the more I do it, feels a lot like prayer. The idea that prayer is meant to be, or that it can be, a literal intercession - a literal request for an omniscient force to intervene in our temporal affairs - is deeply problematic to me. Because, if we can do that and God will (may?) thusly respond, then what the funk can be made of the awfulness and suffering that does occur in our world? Aw, hell naw, I say. Prayer can be good for a lot of things, but the idea that prayer can persuade God (or a god(s)) to do something that you desperately want to happen is grade-school-spirituality, imo. Again, because otherwise, were that so, that same God (or god(s)) would be the cruelest mufugger(s) imaginable, given all the awful things that happen (are "allowed" to happen) on this big blue ball.
  19. Presuming week 18 wins for Bills and Chiefs, and if the league went the "neutral site for Bills-Chiefs championship game," then I think they'd reserve Indi's facility and only sell tix if and when the game materialized. Simple enough. absolutely
  20. fascinating.
  21. He'll need help. I trust he'll get it. When you're talking multiple mills given for a charitable purpose, you're apt to have the charities bureau of a State Attorney General watching as well.
  22. Among other matters, Hamlin's gonna have ~$7M+ in donations to manage for charities of his choosing.
  23. And the good news definitely took an uptick just now. I still think there'll be no resumption of the Bengals game.
