  1. i don't see skinner's puck skills as being sufficiently precise for a power play 1 unit. i'd prefer olofsson there. for sure. i do not understand.
  2. Fair. He's a smart guy. And, last I checked, he's a pretty gifted writer who's worked that gift in order to make it shine. I have reasons -- that I'm not at liberty to share (lame, I know -- sorry) -- for being a bit harsh. I'll only offer: For reasons that are not public (AFAIK), he's owed a comeuppance. I'll let my reasoned discourse on the topic speak for itself. And - notwithstanding my periodic disagreements with them - I'll refrain from insulting other posters by likening their reasoned thought process to a child's tantrum.
  3. You've answered your own question. I've heard that or inferred it before around here. I've explained why I view the matter the way I do. If you've read and comprehended what I've posted and find it weird, so be it. FTFY.
  4. Let's go, Buffalo! A clunker on the 4th game of a west coast trip isn't much cause for concern. But failing to bounce back from that clunker could be. Also: We are only a few games of status quo away from the power play being a 4-alarm fire. I want this team to challenge for a playoff spot. There's no effing way they'll sniff the playoffs with a power play like the one they have.
  5. We’ve debated that to death upthread. I’m just pointing out that Graham’s full of sh1t. (Also, he acknowledges in the quoted excerpt what there is to be gained.)
  6. Facile and revisionist. I wonder if he deleted his Tweets where he said he wouldn’t risk losing access (to senior PSE officers) in order to investigate the matter further.
  7. Calgary outshooting Pittsburgh 20-2 with a couple minutes left in the 1st. (2-0 favouring CAL.)
  8. ^ I see that chart indicating that the Bills O-line is shmokay at pass protection, which, with 17 at QB, is most likely good enough. And then they're poor with the run blocking, which makes sense. That said, I was encouraged by the KC game - the run game showed up. Anyway, I agree that getting a good O-lineman would be their best move ahead of the trade deadline.
  9. Who would come off the field in favour of a new guy? Bates? Brown (Quessenbery)?
  10. Let’s Go, Buffalo!! I’m hoping the team didn't get after it *too* hard on their off day. Thompson scores and has a multipoint game.
  11. Not sure whether it's mentioned upthread: The Sabres are currently at the top of the league in overall shooting % (15.1%) and 3rd in 5v5 shooting % (10.6%). Last season, the Blues led the league in overall S% at 12.4% and 5v5 S% at 9.6%. So, while I presume that the Sabres' numbers will regress a bit, it's not inevitable that they'll fall off a lot. Keep going, boys!
  12. after watching the condensed highlights of the canucks game, this popped up - a lengthy talk with jim rutherford after the canucks' loss to the sabres. the talk was very enjoyable. has something like this ever happened in the buffalo market? markets outside canada? it was cool. what is going on with hamilton?
  13. I ventured over to a Canucks message board to get a flavour for the team’s struggles. Some interesting stuff there. Mostly, though, I lol’d at the fact that someone posts there as “Blob McKenzie.” http://canuckscorner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12566&sid=e2bfd03d8f65a4817c3db42f260a7e54&start=15
  14. Bro, where’s the trigger warning. Isn’t that what the law of averages would dictate though? (Predictive not determinative.)
  15. Let’s Go, Buffalo! I’ve got to be up at ass o’clock on Sunday, so I’ll be catching the condensed game highlights for this one. The Dahlin train keeps rolling, I predict. It’s a multipoint night - but I’m not sure whether he scores his 5th.
  16. Pilut should be steady. Hoping Joki heals quickly and fully.
  17. Good post. I especially agree with the term bolded above. I think that Dahlin used it in his post-game interview -- or maybe he said that the d-corps can be calm because of how Comrie plays (he'll get the first shot and then they just need to focus on dealing with any rebound). I also liked Bryson's game a lot as well - what I saw of it.
  18. Did you watch the video? Devine asks the question of the decision making group. Regier responds in the affirmative, as does Terry.
  19. It's there after all. That's Terry obscured by Devine. Not sure who the others are. "I think so. That's the route."
  20. Remember when Kevin Devine orchestrated a draft where the Sabres took both Ristolainen (sp) and Zadorov? Devine must have had zero radar for - or given zero effs about - hockey IQ. I wish I could find that clip of Devine asking Terry if he wanted to get harder to play against before the team took the sliding Zadorov. It does not appear to be in the official Blue and Gold video about the 2013 draft.
