Radim Mrtka, 6'6" RHD drafted 9th overall by Sabres

I truly think worse case we got Tyler Myers, best case we got Zdeno Chara -
I’d have no problem making Kulich the main piece in a Robertson package, i wouldn’t even blink

This is a bit stupid to be honest….clearly they don’t look at team needs at all! okay a team offered two first round picks, great, so we get pick 18 and 30 and 2 low level guys, doesn’t help us at all kyrou is older Peterka Dobson is older Byram that wants 10 million per year those don’t make sense! And for those that say take the picks and use them for additional assets, there has been very few first rounders moved for talent in the last few years, it just doesn’t happen much, so there is zero guarantee you can do that take the forsure thing that helps you now and gives you flexibility in cap space that now you can aquire a top 6 winger via trade or free agency

Defenders of interest, who could bolster the defense
ponokasabre replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I love the Okeksiak deal, I think that’s something that could get done if we took Grubauer contract -
The quote from Dreger about Byram "And probably most importantly here, is the market for Bo Byron is terrific. It sounds like Adams, you know, to get involved in a trade conversation, a serious one, needs a right-shot defenceman coming back. I was told earlier today that things sound like they're getting closer in terms of a trade, but we'll see how it develops in the days, if not hours ahead."

Elliotte Friedman: I think the chances are pretty good that Sabres Bowen Byram gets dealt, with JJ Peterka I still don't think Buffalo's heart is really in it - SN 590

Ya I really feel this year is the year we see the full Benson experience and we are all gonna love it

Wonder if it’s for Demko?

Yes it is tough, if he becomes the next in a line of guys to move on and find there way somewhere else it will sting so bad....but it is possible that maybe, just maybe we may be able to see high here

From Kypers 2.0 Trade Board on Sportsnet.ca: www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/real-kypers-off-season-trade-board-2-0-who-could-go-this-summer/ Beyond Marner, the team that is getting the most calls in the league are the Buffalo Sabres. Many teams anticipate that the Sabres are itching to get something going, with key names such as Bowen Byram and JJ Peterka potentially available. But this is just scratching the surface about what’s being discussed around the league. Bo Byram - Pressure is mounting on GM Kevyn Adams to get the Sabres on track after the likes of Ottawa and Montreal leaped over them and into the playoffs this past season. It’ll be a delicate balance to not fall back in a rebuild, while also exploring trade options around a few very solid players. One of those is Bowen Byram, an RFA this summer who is only two years away from being able to become a UFA. It’s possible Byram becomes a target for an offer sheet, though he could also seek to slow walk himself to the open market as a 25-year-old. Where does that leave Buffalo? They have already invested tons on the blue line, with Rasmus Dahlin making $11 million, Owen Power at $8.35 million and Mattias Samuelsson at $4.285 million, all on long term deals. If Byram’s extension is around $7 million, will Buffalo be spending too much on its back end? The left shot defender is only 23 and coming off a career-best offensive season so if the Sabres do move him, they should be able to nab a nice return. JJ Peterka - At first glance it doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense why a player like JJ Peterka, who had a career-best season with 68 points and was Buffalo’s second-highest scorer this past season, would be on this list. Just 23 years old, he would seem like a great player to move on into the future with, but this situation isn’t so clean. Peterka is in a strong position because there aren't a lot of players out there who scored as many points as him at such a young age, and he's an RFA. The Sabres should be happy to re-sign him, but the question is: does he want to stay? He's a young player who knows this team hasn't made the playoffs in 14 years and will want to know where are things going. Peterka wants to play in the playoffs and find success, so may not want to commit long-term yet. That leaves Buffalo in a hard position of figuring out how to replace his production if they do have to trade him.

I know we are all wrapped up in the KA banger of a press conference but the NHL keeps on chugging - sounds like Hertl may be on the move from Vegas, it sounds like an Eastern Conference team, possibly Carolina. If so thats Vegas opening space for Marner - I have seen other tweets saying Gavrikov is likely headed to the Rangers. If so you would have to beleive they have to move at least one dman, Borgen, K Miller, Schnieder, or Soucey

Sabres announce Jarmo Kekalainen Hired as Senior Advisor
ponokasabre replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Ya i mean i certainly dont have too much of an issue with him working remotely, i do wish he was here so that he could be involved in anything that happens at the drop of a hat and could advise on the fly vs phone meetings and such -
Also true!
