  1. I think its more about that Aitcheson is just something we don't have in the hard to play against role Its also extremely possible that after the summer we wont have Byram or Samuelsson here, so suddenly left side of the D looks weak I am more on the Martin or Bear train of we keep 9
  2. It makes sense for a team that needs to win now Most of the time that would not make sense, but Buffalo needs to win now, and Weegar, yes 31, is the exact kind of defensman we dont have and the exact that we need. We dont need another 24 year old offensive defensman, we have that in Power and Dahlin. If either one of those werent here you would never make that deal. But we have (like it or not) made our bed with Dahlin and Power and we need to build around them.
  3. Ill say this, I prefer Schnieder, as I think him next to Power would be great for many years to come, but i could be down with Byram for Miller + Rempe to shore up the 4th line and add a bit of toughness up front I still would do Quinn for Hauge And then I think a deal with NYI for Mayfiled/Pulock or Kovacevic from New Jersey or even Samberg from Winnipeg (they probably will re-sign him as they likely let Ehlers walk. I think the most likely is a deal with NYI Islanders, they will sell off one or more of there defensemen for futures and thats something we need to be all over K Miller - Dahlin Power - Mayfield/Pulock Hauge - JBD Bryson, Perbix as extras And id lean Mayfield from the Island as he has the smaller contract and the cap fit of this defense would be very nice But yes Sammy and Cliffton have to go
  4. Dudley would just be such a big win for this franchise, and it all makes sense, local guy, could sorta semi retire while still helping in the shadows, his former and local team, I mean and from a professional stand point it would be quite a challenge to see if you can do what you did in Florida with Buffalo
  5. it just makes so much sense, I think you do Byram plus our first for Weegar and Calgarys first, its a low first casue they lost theres in the Monahan debacle but that would be an overpayment id be okay with
  6. If we could turn Sammy into Ferraro, again with picks and prospects im all for it The Miller idea is intersting, maybe they would be intersted in swapping Sammy plus plus, he would be great with Dahlin, much like Sammy to be honest but K'Andre has that mean bone that Sammy doesnt I also think Perbix is great in the Gilbert role
  7. Nic Hauge has to be really looked at, Vegas will need to cut cap and he will get a raise probably to roughly 4 -5 million per year, he is left handed and an RFA, I proposed a Hauge for Quinn swap Vegas would be scared of an offer sheet for Hauge
  8. Severson also played with Lindy in NJ so I think its possible For this my hope would be Kovacevic, he got in the dog house becasue he called out the team at one point in the season, he just was extended, but I dont think he has trade protection Id also say Mayfield from the Islanders, has a modified no trade clause, or Manson from Colorado if they need to cut cap which they will, he has a no move clause
  9. I was just coming to post this! Really great for San Jose, Askarov looks like the real deal, and if he is, they trip to the bottom will be really short lived Wonder what Nashville got here, a goalie, and a goalie that wanted to be traded, interested in the value they got
  10. Wow Shocked its not here yet but EF is reporting McGroaty has been traded from Winnipeg to Pittsburgh Hockeybuzz is saying its Braedon Yager going back to Winnipeg, but EF has not confirmed return yet
  11. With the Edmonton Offer Sheets, they clearly need to move salary. Would there be any appetite for a Kulak for Joki Swap? Kulak has 2 years left at 2.75 Million I beleive Joki 1 year left at 3.1 Million The trade would be: Kulak for Joki 50% retained And maybe we can get a draft pick out of Edmonton for doing this as they need to shed salary really bad. Edmonton adds a relatively young defensman to replace Broberg that can play now, at a fraction of his cost. We take Kulak who is more the type of defensman we need right now. Joki only has the one year left so Edmonton can let him walk if needed next year. We get the cost controlled asset of Kulak for one more year. If the top 4 is some combination of Power, Dahlin, Sammy, and Byram then Kulak on the third pair is great! He is a lefty and we love those right? Plays extremely physical and tough and could slide up and down the line up as needed. Is this something you guys would entertain? Is it something the team would entertain? Clearly UPL and Joki are good friends would they still trade him knowing he is liked off the ice? Mitts was traded and he was Dahlins best friend so the precedent is there for a move like this. Usually I would not entertain moving a 24 year old defensman for 30 year old but Kulak fits us so much better then Joki. This would be a no-brainer for me and would fit a lot more along our idea of winning now and filling out the roster and making it complete
  12. I have been a lurker on this page for a long time! I am a long time member on another board and I just could not hold my tounge anymore! If we can get Necas you get him! He is 25 years old, yes you have to pay him, but is 6'2 190 lbs, fast, forechecks, isnt a physical beat but plays hard. To me its a deal built around Joki and 11th, they need defensmen as Skjei and Pesce could go elsewhere If you get Necas you are getting him for his prime years! He had 72 points last year, and still 50 this year. He replaces Skinner instantly and he has played center before. You then add a defensive defensman and revamp the bottom six and we are laughing! This could be a very good move for us.
