It's almost like taking any single metric is silly.

This is what that chart shows. The Bottom right shows teams with a high number of blocked shots and a low amount of goals against. There's not many teams there. The bottom left has the most teams who would "block fewer shots and allow fewer goals" so this chart would agree with you.

While I'm on the side of I think it's much ado about nothing.. there is an extremely popular hockey forum with fans from every team and even non-NHL teams and there's as many people who think it's a culture problem as there are people who think it's nothing so I don't think anyone is getting laughed off the internet for the discussion.
