  1. See, this is what I should have done; however, 16 year old overly confident first time solo ice fisher me decided he knew better.
  2. I kept a pike once from ice fishing as a kid and I pretty much ruined it trying to clean it. This was the days before YouTube and I was trying to figure it out myself on the fly. Not my proudest moment. That being said, it tasted alright cooked up as a fish taco, but I'll admit it wasn't the best-tasting fish for that and I decided it wasn't worth it to try and keep any others after that. Why are you supposed to throw the bigger cats back? Is that just the fishery rule to encourage a healthy population? I've never been particularly fond of catfish which is unfortunate as we have them in absolute abundance here in Texas. At the lake five minutes from my house, I believe the daily limit is 25 channel cats with no minimum length (although there is a cap on the number of fish over 20 or 24 inches you can possess, but I don't remember the specifics). Flathead cats have a minimum length, but I don't even know what it is since, again, not a huge fan of catfish. I just go for the striped bass and crappie.
  3. The youth-only deer season opens Saturday. Our nine year old is going out for his first season. We got him a youth-sized single shot 300BLK and I put a suppressor and Leupold scope on it. He’s been out target shooting with it a bunch and it’s pretty darn accurate. He should be good inside 150 yards which is perfect since there are no shots past about 120 yards where we are hunting. He can harvest up to two deer: a doe and buck or two does. So hopefully next Sunday I’m posting a nice success story. Side note: he really wanted to try hunting with a muzzleloader because that’s how I like to hunt. Part of the reason we got him the single shot rifle that we did is there is an identical inline muzzleloader from the same company, so maybe next year he can try that. We’ll see if he enjoys this season or not.
  4. Sammy sits. Gilbert goes in. Let him know he’s going in to energize the bench and let him do his role.
  5. No, the bottom line is Adams hasn’t proven himself as a GM and this is yet another questionable move.
  6. Levi gets a paper transaction to Rochester and you recall a forward. If you need him, let Reimer sit as the backup. If not, you don’t have to do anything except send him down and reactivate Levi (if you want Levi on the bench). I’m only complaining because it’s poor roster management by Adams when he had flexibility. I’d prefer Levi in the NHL than Reimer many times over, but I’d rather have both in the Org instead of losing one for nothing.
  7. We just put NAK on IR. He could have held Reimer for another week. Or done a paper transaction with Levi. This is poor roster management.
  8. At least it’s a pleasant surprise either way.
  9. Thankfully there is no aesthetic bonus to a goal. The team should remember that.
  10. The NHL trended toward 5 minute majors assessed for interference that results in an injury. I guess we're back to trending the other way?
  11. Levi did an excellent job laterally there staying with Hughes.
  12. D) Lindy believes the issue is in the top six, wants to let Kulich have a chance in his home country to see if he has a spark (plus he’s rested), and Benson is the low man on the totem pole in the aforementioned top six. Lindy doesn’t want to bump Benson down to the bottom six. Ergo, Benson sits and Krebs slots in (Krebs also being fresh). I don’t agree with it. I’d sit one of Thompson or Cozens, start the rookie, and let that be the kick in the dupa the top six deserves. But Lindy also has to manage personalities and I guess he believes mixing up the top six sends a message regardless.
  13. This shouldn’t surprise anyone though and it’s not any kind of indictment on UPL. This is a super short recovery back-to-back. So where is Krebs on the depth chart now?
  14. Last season, the PP’s biggest issue was atrocious zone entry. And we’re doing the same thing this season. It makes no sense.
  15. Had a brain MRI show a lesion so I might have MS. Only took my company HR department 3 and 1/2 days to respond to me asking what I should do. That's efficiency.
  16. Except he asked for arbitration because the Bruins reported offer was incredibly low and he had no leverage with being an RFA and the team having Ullmark. I fully believe he made the right call going to arbitration. I also think he is insane not taking the $8x8.
  17. ESPN+ since I’m out of market. For NHL network games, I role-play as a privateer in the 1600s and my letter of marque is the absolute idiocy that I need multiple streaming services to watch hockey. Enough is enough. I don’t want 30 different streaming apps.
  18. I voted "yes" because I live off perpetual disappointment.
  19. This is exactly how I’m viewing this season. It doesn’t exactly instill confidence, but I will admit I am hopeful.
  20. Are you saying CBJ is committing fraud?
