  1. I missed the last 35 mins of the game, but they looked like a much more serious hockey team the last couple of mins of the 1st and first few of the 2nd that I saw. Glad to see they held on coming out of the movie. That's a big win against the defending champs, and as close to a "must win" as you'll probably get in October. Hopefully that's the confidence booster that gets them playing strong hockey. On to the next one...
  2. Alright, I'm at the theatre about to start a movie. Hold it down, boys.
  3. Sabres on the power play. They all look slower.
  4. Amongst all the other issues, this is a poor passing team. It's like they had zero preseason, zero practice and just jumped right into the season cold.
  5. Uhhhhh, he was dragged down breaking for the net, you dinks.
  6. Damn, was hoping the "special announcement" was Pegula sold the team.
  7. Stop me if you've heard this one - slapshot, WIDE
  8. The difference between these two teams is striking. Florida skate and pass with purpose. The Sabres look like 5 guys totally winging it.
  9. Levi says "this is not the net you're looking for."
  10. If they can't pot some against Spencer Knight then they're truly hopeless.
  11. It's becoming more evident that a few of these guys had career seasons in Meatballs' wide open offensive system that eschewed defense. Once he made them start playing more responsibly last seasons, numbers tumbled. So we have guys getting paid for seasons that are very likely not replicable. Things are going swell.
  12. If a tree falls in the forest and no one's around to hear it, does it make a noise?
  13. I thought Cozens showed real promise in 2022/23. I remember him sniping some and he even seemed to have pretty good finishing ability. He, like pretty much the whole team fell off sharply last season and he (and the rest of the team) look lost to start this season. So, to me, the question is - was 2022/23 an aberration for several of our "core players", or did they fall off last seasons when Meatballs changed his system, still struggling to get their footing this season in their third system in three years, and just need to get their feet under them? I don't know what the answer is, but they need to figure it out. They locked several of these guys up and their production last year and starting this year is far below their price.
