Lot of opportunities. Need to take advantage.

I'd actually say it looks worse if that's possible. Last year felt like we could at least get it in the zone, we just passed it around too much. This year it seems like half the time we can't even get it there and if we do, we cough it up.

Two golden opportunities, two popcorn farts. This team looks like it has zero offensive skill, yet many of these guys have shown plenty of flashes of it in the past.

Remember the 2022/23 season when this team could actually pass and generate offense? That was awesome. Sure, they couldn't defend and the goaltending was a wet fart, but they were entertaining.

Which is wildly disappointing because one of the things that would supposedly come with Lindy is a "tougher" team, a team with some bite. I suppose that could grow over time, but this looks like the same bunch of pushovers they've been for years

I really thought at least a split of those two games was necessary/reasonable. I never expected an immediate turnaround, but they were AWFUL in those games and I'm struggling to find anything to be encouraged by. Really deflating.

Two goals in two games against a team missing two of their best defensemen. I'm sorry, that is unexcusable.

There were a couple of months during the 2022/23 season that our power play was among the best in the league. With largely the same guys we have now, minus Skinner. I don't understand how they can't even find a way to even approach competence now

Sadly, it is. Rarely can a coach just flip a switch and change years of bad habits and loser mentality. Of course being 14 years on, patience is justifiably in short supply. I had my doubts about being back Lindy and these two games are certainly doing nothing to sway me, but I do get that there's a hill to climb.

Remember the last, oh, two months of the 2022/23 season when the Sabres were winning a lot, playing good hockey, and actually looked like a young team beginning to realize their potential? Since then, well...

Sure, why the hell not?

Worth noting again that NJ is without two of their best defensemen and we STILL can't generate any offense.
