  1. He became allergic to contact
  2. Anybody know how Toker got hurt? I heard Sabres Live say he was a couple of weeks away. Does that mean the crease belongs to Houser for now?
  3. This is a big year for Jokiharju. playing with Power is a privilege and his game needs to take a step forward.
  4. The person who was most “wrong” was Andrew Peters. He was the one gaslighting local fans into believing star players like Dahlin are no longer signing max term deals. I like their podcast for the insight into some of my favorite teams of yesteryear, but the stuff they spit out is un-researched and unconnected garbage.
  5. I would say none. Dahlin is coming off a bridge deal and signing *three years removed from his entry level contract. Power is still in his ELC. GMKA did say today they’re open to going long term instead of bridge with Power.
  6. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/38609561/vegas-golden-knights-receive-stanley-cup-championship-rings These rings are bonkers
  7. Perhaps this is obvious, but I wanted to point out that the Sabres are done with cuts. The roster is currently at 25, but the Sabres can get to 23 by placing Jack Quinn and Matt Savoie, who just returned to practice, on injured reserve. Three goalies. Thanks I hate it.
  8. UPL hasn’t even earned an NHL recall. He’s here because of injuries, his 2nd round draft status, and potential (I guess). To me, there’s an equal or greater chance he’s an average AHL goalie. He never earned a promotion. He was an injury prone AHL goalie with mediocre numbers. Asset management be damned, it’s time to move on.
  9. I still have random reoccurring memories of the past Bills v Jags game in London. Your score will ease that “pain.”
  10. That would have been perfect. But Hillsborough County did not have any interest in the infrastructure cost or build cost to make it work. The county and city of Tampa basically said, “we’re happy to have you, but we aren’t paying for it.” So they landed back in St Pete with an eye on developing the site to be more than just the ballpark.
  11. You probably know, but the Rays have a deal with St. Pete to build a new stadium. https://www.fox13news.com/news/rays-announce-plans-for-new-1-2-billion-stadium-for-st-petersburg.amp
  12. Can we talk about this? I am on the record to have stated that Mitts was slated to be 1C two seasons ago and he got hurt. Tage seized that opportunity and the Sabres hit the lotto. Fast forward to now, and Mitts has (to me) only shown he can be a top six forward for 40 games (second half of last year). While I’m willing to see what Mitts shows for the first half of this season, he hasn’t shown enough to consider him and Cozens to be in the same stratosphere. Dylan’s age 21-22 season (with rookie line mates) resulted in production that far outweighs anything Mitts has done through his age 25 season. Yes, Mitts had a nice second half last year…but to say the gap and potential is small between these two players doesn’t seem quite right.
  13. Tim Wakefield passed away today. For Red Sox fans, he represented resilience and kindness. I will remember him very fondly.
  14. It’s week four. The Bills have won the division 3X in a row. Call me in January.
  15. In lieu of the Bolts news, there’s no way Comrie or UPL slip through waivers, right? Either have to be an upgrade over Jonas or Hugo Alnefelt. The Bolts window is now…they have to do something.
  16. If Benson in a top six or top nine role is far and away more productive than Kulich or Rousek, then he stays. But I don’t think he is. I think he is better served gaining weight and experience at a lower level. You only get three years of an ELC and his projected production in 22-23 isn’t enough to burn a year now over those other guys. Don’t murder me PA and others who think this post is only about the future. I am not saying that. I just don’t think he’s enough of an upgrade over the stable of other top tier prospects to hang around for 2023.
  17. I don’t think so. The Buff News said individual Sabres or Knicks games can be streamed for $9.99 or a monthly cost of $29.99 or an annual fee of $309.99.
  18. For comparison sake, Vegas is giving a much better deal to watch the Knights than MSG Go.
  19. This may have been said upthread, but I’m in favor of abolishing the shootout if it is replaced with next goal wins 3 on 3. No time limit.
  20. Why would Anaheim want all our garbage for their best player?
  21. KA is in the business of winning games and Kane (at this stage in his career) doesn't help that. The Sabres don’t need to bring in the hockey equivalent of TO to sell merchandise.
  22. Kulich doubled in size during the offseason
