I’m sorry. Didn’t realize these teenagers should already be dominating the NHL. They are developing nicely which will help organizational winning when they are ready to come up and help the lineup or be used as trade chips to bring in other pieces to help them win games.

If Skinner was making $3 million no one would care. He is taking up $ 9 million which is the big issue. He’s a one trick pony who is paid like a superstar. That is the issue.

It’s not just teenagers. There is a good balance but they are developing a lot of kids which a farm team should be. Wahlberg and Östlund just joined in the past couple weeks. At the end of the day Syracuse has a couple players that could help the Lightning. The Sabres probably have 8 that can be Sabres or NHL players on other teams if traded. They play hard. Peterka, Muel and Quinn have graduated from the Amerks and have become solid Sabres. Kulich, Rosen, Neuchev, Östlund, Wahlberg, R Johnson, Novikov, Levi are the next wave. Savoie and Komarov should be joining next year. The Amerks model is working for the kids.

Canadian RHD Henry Mews has made a lot of head scratching decisions at the U18s Gavin McKenna who is Bedard’s cousin by marriage is 16 and is unbelievable at the U18s. He is 2026 draft eligible but Button said today if he was in this draft he would go 1 or 2 behind 18 year old Celebrini.

If he wanted Lindy and hired Lindy I have no problem with that. But to make a public statement that you talked to all these people make you look like a moron. You know reporters and insiders are going to ask available coaches if they talked to Buffalo. Just makes the whole operation look like a joke. Instead just say “Lindy was the guy I was focused on. From past history together I knew he had every attribute I was looking for and knew we could work together to right the ship.”

Novikov-Komarov could be a hell of a third pairing in a couple years. Byram-Dahlin Power- ? Novikov- Komarov Ryan Johnson use assets like Muel, Joker, Clifton, young forward prospects to find that long term RHD partner for Power. Or sign a Demelo or Roy this offseason.

Leafs can’t win at home but man if they gutted out a game 6 win then the amount of pressure on Boston in Game 7 to not blow back to back 3-1 series leads would make that game fascinating to watch

You would think something has to give on the Isle. Brock Nelson would be a real nice fit for this team. One year from ufa. Big character Centre that produces, can play physical. Fit in as the 2/3 centre.

The only problem with Carrier is he makes Muel look like Doug Jarvis.

I would still trade #11 for an impact player this year but if no trade is viable they will get another good player.

I would rather the Lightning sign him and we trade for Cirelli and Jeannot.

Keith Pelley is taking over as President and CEO of MLSE so I expect a napalm bomb to be dropped on the Leafs. Shanahan 💩 canned along with Keefe. I would imagine Treleving stays as long as he sells a plan to reshape and cleanup this mess. The core four has to be torn apart. Tavares and Marner both have one year to UFA status. I think Matthews and Nylander are the two they keep.

I don’t know if they can keep him for another year. It is really ugly in Toronto right now. This will be 8 years of this group completely failing in the playoff. One of the big four has to move. Matthews isn’t going anywhere, Nylander just signed his extension, Tavares is unmovable so that leaves Marner. The media are destroying him here and I wouldn’t be surprised if he welcomed a move. I don’t think a trade with Buffalo will happen but as far as the NMC he has one year left before UFA so a move down the road to Buffalo is most convient for him for a year and gets him out of the scrutiny of Toronto. I have no idea what they do but fans are calling for the whole thing to be blown up for the first time. I expect Shanahan and Keefe to be canned.

Will they? His salary is $10.9 million and he has a no movement and is one year from UFA. How many teams can take on that cap hit, be a team Marner will waive to go to and will want to give up this very nice return for one year of Marner? I think it will be a tricky move to pull off for them and get value back.

Leafs about to blow it up. Crazy hypothetical situation that is more a mental exercise than reality. The guy that will probably go is Marner but with his deal and being one year from UFA and his NTC he will be tough to move and get any value for the Leafs. Trade for Marner as long as Skinner is part of the deal. You add a young prospect and Joker to make it worthwhile for the Leafs. Does he fill the toughness or bottom six role, no but players as talented as he is don’t become available often. Reasoning: fans here in Toronto are ready to run him out of town on a rail. He has 1 more year left and then is a free agent. He is a tremendous regular season player who falls apart in the playoffs. He has a NTC but Buffalo for a year might appeal as it is close to home and doesn’t have the pressure of Toronto. Skinner has a NTC too but would most likely waive for Toronto. Joker would give them a young RHD that they need. One of the prospects would make it worthwhile for them. Skinner plus Joker’s salary offsets Marner’s so you still have money to fill out the other needs in the lineup. Marner on the top line with Tage would easily turn him into a 50+ goal scorer. Get to the playoffs next year and see if Marner has a different playoff outcome with a different team. I’d it works out you look at your lineup and see if there is a pathway forward with him on a new deal. If he doesn’t work out he walks in FA but you have rid yourself of Skinner’s deal in the process. Likelihood if this happening is very small but fun to think about. It is a move to get you in the playoffs next season. The main idea of the whole trade is getting out of Skinner’s deal while rolling the dice that Marner has a different outcome in a different environment for 1 year. I think ultimately Dubas will be all over him and bring him to Pittsburgh to play with Crosby.

Watched the game with all my Leafs buddies tonight..OH BOY 6 straight playoff losses at home. 8 years in the playoffs with this group, one series win. Leafs have to be blown up. Dubas is a complete fraud. The worst constructed team I have seen. All the money dumped into high end forwards with no D or goalie focus. Treleving has a giant mess to clean up. I would imagine both Shanahan and Keefe get canned. The media and fans are out for blood here.
