  1. Michkov is the ultimate wildcard with this draft. The talent is there to be in the same breath as Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson but the Russian factor, the contract and Rumor he might add 2 more years to it, the unknown around his dad’s passing (is there more to the story we will not know about because of Russia) all have to be weighed by GMs. I have no idea where he is picked. Arizona with 2 top 12 picks, Washington or Detroit are my best bets. Im intrigued by Pronman’s statement that he is hearing that Benson might be available in the teens because of size. Him and Savoie are dynamite together. I have a hard time believing he falls that far but stranger things have happened at the draft.
  2. Yep and everybody seems to forget that this season is a revelation for Montour. Even last season he was nothing special for Florida. He is having a career year at 29/30 years old. His trade value a couple years ago shouldn’t be based on what he is doing this season.
  3. We will have to see if he is assigned there. He might be banged up after the playoff run.
  4. Both Milic and Hauser were great all season. Nice to see smaller goalies making a comeback. Savoie had a ton of chances he just couldn’t get it to go. What I was most encouraged about with Savoie was he doggedness to throw the body and physically engage and battle against a much bigger team. Seattle were full marks for their WHL Championship.
  5. Hopefully Davies and Ciccone back. Love to see Pilut but he may get a chance somewhere else
  6. Savoie’s season is over. Seemed snakebitten tonight. That Seattle Team is a machine. Announcer said it is the best junior team he has seen. Big, skilled and defensively a rock. I really liked #4, Hanzel. 19 year old rock solid dman that hasn’t been drafted. I will be shocked if they don’t win the Memorial Cup. I wonder if Savoie is headed to Rochester next week.
  7. Does anyone know if Glovtov still belongs to Buffalo? He is 25 now and had a couple decent years in the KHL. He was well liked by teammates. He might be the best option as a guy that could play for the Amerks and be a mentor for these Russian kids. Wonder if he was interested in coming back.
  8. If they are drafting Steve Reinprect at 13 I’m done😃
  9. I would like to see Murray get a chance next year. 4th line LW or extra forward. He has worked his butt off for a chance and is a forgotten prospect. If not he will be a nice trade piece. Another team will want a 6’5, 225 pound winger with his production. Greenway on line 3 Murray in line 4 would really boost the size in the bottom 6.
  10. Boosh is an NHL dman. I don’t have a name though because not a ton of Russians stick around the AHL. Could the immortal Glovtov be on his way back😛
  11. He’ll be here. He refused to sign an extension in Russia so he could sign with Buffalo. If Buffalo were smart they would bring in a vet Russian AHL player to lead the way for these Russian kids.
  12. Here in Toronto the story is: -Dubas deal was up. - rumour is management had an extension for him. -Dubas said at PC he had to talk to his family about his future -said he will not be a GM anywhere else next year Lou was GM with Dubas and Mark Hunter under him. People wanted Hunter, experienced hockey man, good eye for talent. They went for Dubas. Dubas biggest downfall were contracts. The core 4 bent him over on deals and handcuffed him from balancing the lineup.
  13. ICE are down 3-1 to Seattle. Could Savoie join the Amerks here soon if they get eliminated? Boy that would be fun to see.
  14. Seattle won 4-2 with an empty netter. These might be the two best teams in junior hockey. Seattle are absolutely loaded. If Winnipeg are out here soon does Savoie join the Amerks for the next round? Would love to see it.
  15. Thoughts and Prayers Woll. Losing 2 series in one week is a lot to take. Hate to see it.😀 Amerks pounded the piss out of them on the scoreboard this series. So great to see Kulich, Rosen, Rousek and Kozak playing so well. Such a great mix of vets and kids. I really like Cederqvist’s game. Uses his body really well and gets under the other team’s skin. Jobst is a great AHL player. To think Biro is out and they haven’t missed a step.

  17. Tulsky has to be the run away favourite with the way Fenway craves analytics.
  18. It will not cost Kulich or Savoie for one year of Hellebuyck. Bringing inHellebuyck for a year would be a great developmental move for the franchise. The development for Levi for the season would be tremendous. Being around Hellebuyck everyday, seeing how he practices, prepares to be consistently good would be huge. A year of Hellebuyck/Levi as a tandem would help this team develop into a playoff contender. Hellebuyck+Demelo for #13+UPL+Joker Gives you the best tandem in the league plus a solid rhd for Power Sign a solid 3rd pairing LHD to play with Boosh.
  19. I almost forgot one of my favourite moments of the Amerks game yesterday was the guy rocking the Amerks Milan Bartovic jersey.😁
  20. This is now the second person to say they have heard the Sabres have interest in Hellebuyck. From the Athletic's Michael Russo: “he becomes available, don’t be surprised if Buffalo and New Jersey take big swings. One thing we’ve heard early this offseason is that the Sabres have interest in Hellebuyck, with the belief that a genuine No. 1 goaltender could be the last remaining piece in turning them into contenders. Getting one would also allow them to hold off on turning the reins over to Devon Levi until he’s proven to be NHL-ready. The Jets would want young team-controlled assets in exchange, and the Sabres have plenty of those — from a youngish goaltender in Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to promising talents like Peyton Krebs and even Casey Mittelstadt.”
  21. https://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/craig-s-list-after-impressive-u18-showing-axel-sandin-pellikka-moves-into-top-5-1.1960662 Button has Sandin Pellikka in his top 5 and Wallinder at #8.😳
  22. Not bothered at all. The situation here was never going to work with Eichel, Reinhart, Risto etc driving the bus. They were great players but the mix was never going to lead to success. I would make those trades 10/10 again. Those guys went to teams with established cultures where they just had to blend in. Good for them but the culture and system Adams has built here is much better for the Sabres future success. If Levi And Kulich hit like we think they will then that is a tremendous trade for Reinhart. Eichel for Tuch, Krebs, Östlund And Greenway is also great considering the situation they were in.
  23. Gallant isn’t fired for results as much as personality. He never seems to get along with the front office. He is not an Xs and Os guy. He lets vet players play. He probably has a grating personality and doesn’t listen to suggestions from above. He is hired for his previous results and then canned for his behaviour. It sounds like his “people skills” are lacking.
