I just watched a press conference. At its low speed it is sending back 1000 bits per second. At its high speed, 4000. That photo was taken yesterday and downloaded overnight. The craft has all of its instruments trained on Pluto with its antenna pointed at the planet. Tonight at 9p, it will turn around and cycle two times through its telemetry and communications data (~20m). It will then resume scanning the planet. It will take them 16 months to download all the data. They also said, without the gravity assist from Jupiter, it would have taken four more years. They were under the gun to complete the craft in 2006 so as not to miss the Jupiter window. Pretty amazing. The photos coming down in the next few days will bring in much higher resolutions. Another interesting fact. The planet was bigger than they expected. So they hit their box but were off by 70km (planet was bigger, so closer) in 3 billion miles.

This is why it is going to be more serious than folks are making it out to be.

From wiki... DUI laws in Canada A person convicted for any drinking and driving offence (which includes a refuse to comply offence) faces an automatic Canada-wide driving prohibition, and either afine or jail sentence and the possibility of probation. The minimum sentences are:[14][15] For a first offence, a $1000 fine and a 12-month driving prohibition,For a second offence, 30 days of jail and a 24-month driving prohibition, andFor a third or subsequent offence, 120 days of jail and a 36-month driving prohibition.Drinking and driving offences are prior offences for refuse to comply offences, and vice versa.[14] If no one is killed or hurt, and the prosecutor is proceeding by summary conviction, the maximum sentence is 18 months of jail. If no one is killed or hurt, and the prosecutor is proceeding by indictment, the maximum sentence is 5 years of jail.[14] If another person suffers bodily harm because of the offence, the maximum sentence is 10 years in jail.[14] If another person is killed because of the offence, the maximum sentence is a life sentence.[14] If a person is convicted of both impaired operation/care or control and operation/care or control with a BAC in excess of 0.08 percent, the defendant can only be sentenced for one of the offences (the prosecutor chooses which one).[16] The same does not apply if a person is also convicted of a refuse to comply offence. A province is allowed to set up special ignition interlock device programs specifically to limit criminal driving prohibitions. Not all provinces have such specific programs, but if they do, and a person is enrolled in one, then they can drive during their prohibition period with an interlock device, beginning as follows: For a first offence, 3 months after the day of sentence,For a second offence, 6 months after the day of sentence, andFor a third offence or subsequent offence, 12 months after the day of sentence.Driving otherwise while on a driving prohibition is a criminal offence.

I knew the fact that you got arrested was out there; I was unaware that all the nitty-gritty details are also released.
-
Am I the only one who is disturbed that a copy of your arrest report is on the internet? As a society, we do not need to see everything that is out there. We just don't.

two words: buh bye And that comes from a long time supporter/defender of him.

I want to say thanks also. I went in a found Joe Theismans'. Not sure why I settle on him, maybe the LT play; I don't know. What a great read. My favorite line from Doc Gooden's; "Take a moment to thank the Lord that social media will not exist during your playing career. The entire ‘86 Mets team probably would have been locked up." Shannan's was good too.

I do feel for today's kids and their student loan debt. It's out of control. I came out of school with a fair amount of debt for my era. I retired that and my wife's too. I invested in prepaid college plans and 529s for my kids 10 years ago, It was a good deal. I paid 16K for a plan worth 45K now. My goal is to have my kids graduate from college debt free. It does feel like I have paying/saving for education my whole adult life. Having 50-60K of debt leaving college is insanity.

I get it, but still, it's a scrimmage. No one is going to be impressed with a couple of fighters, fighting in an exhibition. -

I'm sorry. Fighting in a scrimmage is stupid. What if one of those guys knocks out Eichel. would you feel the same? -
