I'd say just the opposite. Can you imagine the 1000 things that must be done just to drop the puck on time? Teams have an entire off season to get ready for opening day. Players are scattered all over the world, travel schedules, hotels, workers, ice, contracts, etc.. It must be truly crazy getting a season under way in two weeks. Not to mention interpreting the CBA..

Wow.. This thread is in some real need of sunshine.. What a bunch of dour fans in here.. So here goes.. Step 1.. Make Ott Captain.. Send a message to team and league that this Sabres team will play with more grit. Step 2 ... Trade Leo ... Someone has got to go and keep Brennan up I think, gut feeling, that Sabres Defense will be the defense we expected last year. That means a lot of 2-1 and 3-2 games but a much better Sabres team than last year. Shortened season will actually play into Sabres hands as their roster usually is good for about 48 games before they begin wearing down. Solid D, a fresh G and just enough O brings Sabres into middle of playoff seeding...

Admittedly i know bupkus about this guy. Maybe he's the next Harbaugh... Was really hoping they would make a strong play for the Ducks coach.. I'll hold back any further snap judgments until his on field product can be evaluated.

Yeah they refurbed it a few years back.. Flying down the sled hill on those old runner sleds was always a thrill.. We had a souped up ten-seater tobaggan with extra cushioning. That thing routinely went all the way down the toboggan runs and forced us to deliberately crash it to stop it before the end.. I remember the hot chocolate too..

We saw it too. I've read the book, seen it in NYC and now this. A truly remarkable movie. They can extend the visual in the movie that a play just can't. The Fantene scene at the end was chilling.. I thought all the characters were well casted. This year 's Oscars will be very competitive.
