  1. I'm not rooting for anyone left. I just acknowledge that Boston has that secret sauce going this year and will win it all.
  2. My gut tells me that Boston wins it all. Every SC run requires some herculean moment and Boston sure had theirs against the Leafs. Fate is smiling on the Bruins this year. They're built to win it all. They're getting over their head play from the their defensive corp at the time most teams would have collapsed under the strain,
  3. Looks like those 8 days of rest hurt the Pens.
  4. For all the Pittsburgh talent, Boston is making them look average tonight.
  5. Malkin vs Bergeron. Who would have thunk it.
  6. Marchand being Marchand
  7. Seems like Boston has more flow in this game than Pittsburgh.
  8. Cooke being Cooke.
  9. I'm not advocating bringing Danny back. Danny plays behind the net with more composure than anyone else. The Sabres miss that ability.
  10. I did a quick scan through Wiki on Messier. Doesnt appear that he ever coached professionally. Would be an interesting choice.
  11. Bruins in 7; Hawks in 6
  12. That's my take on it as well. Players could also have been swayed into not revolting by the owner and GM saying their coach was there for life. I chose to believe the former as there is no concrete evidence to the latter.
  13. I almost don't remember 2006 except for the Sabres playoff run. So I did some digging: Feb 12th - A powerful winter storm blankets the Northeastern United States dumping 1 to 2 feet of snow from Washington DC up to Boston, Massachusetts. The storm dumped a record 26.9 inches of snow in New York City. Mar 10th - The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter arrives at Mars. May 21st - The Swedish ice hockey team Tre Kronor takes gold in the World Championship, becoming the first nation to hold both the World and Olympic titles separately in the same year. Aug 24th - The International Astronomical Union (IAU) redefines the term "planet" such that Pluto is considered a Dwarf Planet. Oct 2nd - Five school girls are murdered by Charles Carl Roberts in a shooting at an Amish school in Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania before Roberts commits suicide. Nov 5th - Saddam Hussein, former president of Iraq, and his co-defendants Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti and Awad Hamed al-Bandar are sentenced to death in the al-Dujail trial for the role in the massacre of the 148 Shi'as in 1982. Dec 30th - Madrid Barajas International Airport is bombed.
  14. Rangers certainly have enough talent on the roster. Would be interesting to see if Ruff could win with that roster. It would certainly be fodder for the debates that rage on here about quality of talent vs coaching and system. I for one hope Lindy ends up in NY.
  15. Can't imagine... You have my sympathies. Godspeed to Jake.
  16. I only saw the first period last night (the boring period). Glad to see Detroit is out. Missed all the excitement. Go Hawks, Go Pens. Go home Bruins, Go Home Kings.
  17. I'd find it hard to do the job. When things start going off the rail, and in Buffalo that is every October for the Bills and January for the Sabres, staying positive would be challenging, even for cash money.
  18. What if I can't see? Who then would it be?
  19. Torts, Vigneault and Lindy all on the market should make for an interesting off season.
  20. Ottawa with a shortie on first shot of game
  21. I heard an interview with the Mayor of Moore. He said they have debated increasing safe home designs, like safe rooms, since the last EF5 hit there in 1999. He said they were reluctant to impose for fear of big brother like backlash. Now they will. So maybe people shouldn't live in Moore. 2 EF5 in 14 years sounds like favorable climatology/geography mixed with voodoo and bad karma. Fool me once, shame on you, but fool me twice........
  22. I'm offically agnostic, I do believe.
  23. Nice to see other teams can give up late goals. All things considered, Ottawa has to feel pretty damn good today.
  24. I'm surprised they didn't edit what Tortorella said during that mid-game interview.
